Remarks
I am proud to be a IIESTian. Whenever wherever I go with my parents. They feel proud of me too. People ask me how to get into IIEST, how much rank is required. And last year IIEST has been added in the NITs list by MHRD, GOI. Overall IIEST is 19th ranked by NIRF and 3rd among NITs.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure of IIEST is well focused. In first year, students of all branches have the same syllabus. Because there is a option for branch change after first year on the basis of first year result. From second year onwards, students study in their own field only. In each year 4 exams are conducted including 2 endsems and 2 midsems.
Placement Experience
Our college holds a good placement and internship record also. This year, till now highest package has been above 40 LPA by Google. Google has hired 3 students. Other than Google, students are placed in Microsoft, Oracle, L&T, Amazon, Flipkart, Facebook, CESC, Directi, IBM, Infosys and many more. In terms of internship, our students have been taken by Microsoft, L&T, CESC and so on.
College Events
We have 2 main events named Instruo (Our annual techfest) and Rebeca(our annual cultural fest). Other than these we have Oikatan, Impetus, Initium, Udbhavani and many more departmental and club fests. Club fests like Anuranan (Drama), Oikatan (Music), Gyandhara (Quiz) and many others.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loan facility is available in our bank UCO bank BESUS branch. Also, our alumnus offer GAABESU scholarship for students. Students with good CGPA, low income, SC/ST/OBC students can avail this scholarship.
Campus Life
We have different labs for different subjects. In terms of extra curriculum activities, we have 2 grounds named Oval and Lords, 1 basketball court. Each hostel has carrom board, table tennis. There is a swimming pool and a gym also.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are quite good. Food is really too better than other colleges. We are given atleast one time non-veg in a day. Hostel facility is very good here. Every hostel and hall have their own mess within their periphery. We have indoor game facilities in hostel for games like badminton,Table tennis, carrom etc.Every floor has own washing machines installed in the washroom.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are really helpful in terms of mentoring, career advice and helping. They are very responsive to our help. There is no trace of ragging in our campus. We have a anti ragging squad also. Our college is first in West Bengal to stop ragging.
Admission
You need to qualify JEE Main with a decent rank. Then you have to participate in JOSAA counselling which includes online choice filling, document verification by visiting nearest NIT. And after that you have to visit IIEST for final verification and admission.
Faculty
Being India's second oldest engineering college and the FOUNDER OF IITs, our college maintains standard of its faculties. They are highly qualified. They are from IITs, NITs. Some have done research in foreign universities also.
