Remarks
Positive is the name and alumni of our college. Negative can be less research oriented. Also, extra curricular activities are good as our college is among the toppers in IIT bombay fest and various other fests.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is not up to date with research at minimal level. Labs were there but not up to date. Yes. Being a prestigious college, it offered good knowledge but lacked somewhere in infrastructure. There were two mid sems in a day and one end sem a day without a holiday.
Placement Experience
Yes, for internship there were not many companies for my branch so i found the internship in the 6th semester on my own for 6 months. Placements are good with almost every one getting placements who are willing for Job.
College Events
A technical cultural festival for each branch. Also the famous fest of north india that is pecfest at its best. Also many other cultural fest of dramatics and music club. Also, punjabi society events too.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible when compared to private but expensive as compared to government colleges. Also, Hostels fees were getting expensive each semester. For a semester, an average of 50000 Rs and for a hostel, average of 60000 for whole year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Girls scholarships to topper of enterance exam. Also, Economically weaker sections scholarship. Also. SC and ST scholarships. Also. separate SC ST book bank in library. Also. Handicapped scholarships might also be there.
Campus Life
Some facilities like GYM and badminton hall is good. Rest,athletics is not so good but it was changing at the time we were about to leave the college. Dramatics club is one of the finest club in our college.
Hostel Facilities
Very normal as compared to pricing of the hostel. Bathrooms are a mess. Only shivalik C block is good as it is built new. Grounds are very less and if there are, they wont allow you to play. Food is okay.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, there is a whole good network of alumni and they are helpful. Regular events are held where they even fund college and give scholarships to various talented students to encourage them to excel in future.
Admission
Through JEE MAINS Rank under 50% UT reserved seats. I secured a rank of 38400 in JEE MAINS. Then there is a common portal for chandigarh colleges. I applied in that and got Civil Engineering in spot round.
Faculty
The faculty is good with great depth knowledge about subjects. But still there was some gap in sharing of their knowledge in some subjects. Also teaching methods were old and confined giving us all same thinking of tackling a problem.
