Good:- 1. Placement is good compared to state govt college and private college 2. Has good world ranking. 3. 2nd NIT after nit Trichy according to MHRD ranking 4. Club culture and extra curricular activities are very good. For evey activities, we have one or more than one club. 5. Infrastructure is very good. 6. Professors are good at their research field. 7. Weekly new movie screening at?70/ticket Bad:- 1. Some professoers are very strict and have high ego. 2. Our college has not that much facilities for sports. 3. Could have been better placement as compared to IIT. 4. Lack of industry oriented teaching.

The course is same for every first year students. From second year onwards, we are taught in our respective departments. One can change the branch if he/she will meet the criteria implemented by the institute. In electrical engineering department, most topics are conceptual and it requires no mugging up. But it requires good problem solving capacity. The question paper are set to determine the understanding of the subject. Generally the question paper consists of 70% numerical and 30% descriptive questions. As the questions are conceptual it will help to crack competitive exams. In campus placements, core companies ask generally from topics like machines, power systems, control systems, power electronics etc, so the exam structure is relevant.

It will be violation placement policy of to name all the companies. So in concise manner I can say the placement is not good this year. Due to the GDP down, less core companies recruited from our college. Recently, 2 PSUs recruited from our college. Many analytics and software companies recruits. The general steps of recruitment are:- 1. Online test 2. Group discussion 3. Personal interview At the end of the year more than 90% students get placed. In our college, training placement cell regulates the placement and soft skill development. In pre final year, many soft skill session are conducted i.e online tests for aptitude, coding,core, analytics which is very similar to the actual company recruitment test. Then many sessions are conducted for English vocabulary and speaking skill.

We conduct INNOVISION In evey odd semester. It is the largest tech-management festival of eastern India. Around 1500-2000 people from outside come to participate.In even semester cultural festival like NITRUTSAV and celebrity night are celebrated. In this festival around 1000 people gather. Along with these festivals many workshops and events are organised by different clubs and departments throughout the year.

Fee Structure is decided by MHRD. The tution fees is 62500 per semester. With addition of mess,library and miscellaneous fees, semester fees comes around 93000. If the parental annual income is less than 1 lakh, then 100% fee waiver on tution fees. If parental income is in less than 5 lakh, the 66.7% fee waiver in tution fees. The fee- breakdown is very transparent and you will be provided the money receipt. There is no extra fees for admission. Though there are some extra fees for security purposes which will be added only in first year semester fee.

Yes, I have opted for scholarship offered by govt of Odisha. There are many scholarships for financially backward and SC and ST students.

Gender ratio-1:8 Many workshops related to technical and managerial are organised throughout the year.ex-ROOT Total 4 societies to look after different activities of SAC(student activity center). Gender and regional or sexual bias are not entertained in our college. One election is conducted by SAC which is supervised by professors and done online to elect the convenor of different festivals and member to each society.

Yes, it is compulsory to stay in hostel. There are total 10 hostels. 2 are for girls one is for married couples and rest are for the boys. In GDB and MV hall, only first year boys students stay. Similarly in KMS hall, only first year and scond year girls stay. Hostel rooms are equipped with tubelight, fans, cupboard. Recently waching machines are installed in two hostels. It will be installed in other hostels very soon.

Yes, they are vey helpful. They guide to get internship and placements. Last year, we have an alumni meeting. There many alumni came from different fields. They describe what are the benefits and cons of their fields. What will be the demand of their field in future etc.

I gave jee-main exam, in which I had secured 15921 rank. As I have a inclination towards core subjects i.e mechanical, electrical and civil. I applied to only those branches. And also I had applied to only NIT,rourkela because it is near to my home. According to my rank, I got electrical engineering

In my department, all the professors have PhD degree and some of have post doctoral degree. All the professors have PhD dgree from the top 5 IITs. The publish good number of reserch journals. Around 40 professors are there in my department and 1 professor is of HAG level, which is the highest level. Every professors wants you to be perfect in the subjects. Some professors teach the subject in a manner that you will remember the things for very long time. Some professors are little bit relaxed and set easy questions.
