Remarks

There are pros and cons for everything, my college is not out of that list. the to be soecific lets make a list. Cons 1. The college pressure is strict and hectic. 2. The syllabus is backdated. 3. There are less chances to persue our hobbies. 4. The number of core company placement is lesser than the government obes. Pros 1. Excellent campus life. 2. Integrity between the students. 3. Friendly as well as excellent faculties. 4. Good placement offers for everyone. 5. Strict routine practice turns us into better personalities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college follows the course curriculum provided by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology. The college as well as the curriculum is affiliated by the AICTE. To be honest the curriculum is not focused on the latest situation or on the needs of a student to become a problem solver. Due to its backdated format it fails to attract students. But at the end of the day if someone practice to gain external knowledge then that will turn him/her into a good engineer. The college follows the MAKAUT exam pattern as 1 end semester final written exam for all the theory subjects separately, 1 end sem lab exam for all the practical/lab based subjects separately, 2 internals for all the subjects separately, 1 internal lab exam for all the lab subjects separately and 2 assignments for all the subjects separately. Except of this the college maintains regular class tests.

Placement Experience

2.5

Academy of Technology is also famous for its placement offers. It asks some of the best companies to come in our college and held a on campus placement drive. The college also provides job opportunities for those who are not good at there academics. The last 5 years placement scenario is pretty much impressing. The college provides internship for the top 20 students of each trade only. As per my knowledge the internship experience is very much good but the of them are non paid.

College Events

2.5

In case events like college fests our college not a student friendly one. I am providing a list of the events 1. Arcadia the annual cultural fest of 2 days. The 2nd day is reserved for the guest performer. In case of guest performers our college is very much choosey. To get a chance to perform on the day one, the students must pass the auditions. 2. Regatta the fresher's welcome party only for the newcomers and the 2nd year students. The participation criteria is same as the Arcadia 3. Annual technical fest "Techfiesta" for 2 days. Anyone can participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is not that much expensive it follows the MAKAUT guidelines. For the 4 years course the semester fees standa between 40k-43k rupees. There is an extra 30k rupees fees for the training classes. The fest fee is 1200 per year Admission fees is somewhere around 60k including every other facilities The hostel fees is separate, but as am not a hosteller so I dont know about it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college itself doesn't have any specific scholarships for the students, but it offers the schemes which are provided by the the government such as, 1. TFW quota scheme for the poor students 2. Cast based TFW schemes 3. Minority schemes 4. PWD schemes

Campus Life

4

Yes,the college has extra curricular activities but those are not that much exiting for everyone. The labs are great here. The gender ration for male:female is somewhere around 3:1 The students are allowed to organize interdepartmental teachers day party and farewell parties but nothing more than that. The college helds various workshops throughout the year like 1. Coding workshops 2. English workshops 3. Aptitude development workshops 4. Technical or robotics workshops There is basically no cultural society present in our college. The college is ragging, violence and politics free. The whole college is a no smoking zone. So the students are never into any kind of nuisances.

Alumni/Alumna

As our college seniors say that during there college days the used to curse the college because of its strict and punctual curriculum but the regular practice to follow these strict routines have turned them into excellent workers in there work Fields. And senior students who are placed in various companies help us a lot to improve as a personal and to get a job.

Admission

The college admission process is very much simple. The college authority allow candidates who have secured a rank between 5k-70k in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination to apply for a seat in the available trades like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology Engineering. The required rank to apply in different trades are different. Except all the above mentioned trades my college offers the MCA and the M.Tech in electrical engineering course. For the master degree the college picks students from the gate merit list. The college also offers Diploma students to join the regular bachelor degree course through the JELET merit list. Academy of Technology holds a good rank (3rd) among all the private engineering colleges. The college is famous for its strict curriculum and the rules and regulations it follows.

Faculty

4.5

The best thing about our college is it has one of the best faculties and max number of them are IIT or JU paasouts. The are friendly as well as damn serious when its needed. As we know that there are people who are not good at everything so there are a few faculties who sometimes lack of communication skills. But that doesn't create a huge problem just because of there friendly nature and interest to teach a particular course.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
