Our institute is considered as one of the most premium institutions of India. Almost every facility is available here most of the times. Huge companies come during internship/placement season. Course structure is amazing and according to the need of the industry.

Very well structured The institute was initially established to train scientists and engineers after India attained independence in 1947. However, over the years, the institute's academic capabilities diversified with offerings in management, law, architecture, humanities, etc. IIT Kharagpur has an 8. 5 square kilometres (2, 100 acres) campus and has about 22, 000 residents. The students and alumni of IIT Kharagpur are informally referred to as KGPians.

Placement and job opportunities are very better and improving every year. Our college has a career development center (CDC), which helps students to get internships in top companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe and other tech - giants. Stipend varies from 20k to 1 lakh rupees per month. Placements are also awesome with highest packages touching crores.

There are a lot of events most important of which are fests. There are two major fests in IIT Kharagpur. Spring fest (cultural fest) and Kshitij (Tech - fest). Thousands of students from all over India participate in these events. There are many more events such as NSSC, Megalith, Illumination (during diwali), etc.

For general/obc students - Rs. 1 lakh per semester and zero for SC/ST students. Lot of merit - cum - need scholarships are availabile for meritorious students which lie in economically weaker section. Fees is not very high but if we compare with other government institutes then IITs are comparatively expensive.

Loans are available with collaboration with SBI and PNB. I've myself took education loan from SBI. A lot of scholarships are also available for meritorious students (with GPA > 7. 5 or GPA > 8 in few cases) whose parents have annual income less than Rs. 5 lakhs.

Extracurricular activities are compulsory for the first two years such as NSO (sports), NSS and NCC. I've NSO (health & fitness) as my Extra Academic Activity (EAA). Many other facilities are available such as robotics lab, mechanical lab, etc. Swimming pool, football, cricket, hockey groungs, squash, table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton courts are present and open for all students.

It is compulsory to live in hostel here in IITs. Hostels are within the campus and are amazing. Almost everything is available here most of the times. Food/Snack shops are mostly open 24x7. Washing Machines, water purifiers/coolers, high speed wifi, etc are available.

IIT Kharagpur is famous for it's giant alumni network present both within and outside the country. Our Alumni are present in almost every fields such as Technology, Law, Politics, Finance, Market, Civil servants, etc. and are very helpful. Infact we have Alumni cell present in the campus which connects the institute with successful alumni. Seniors also are very helpful and supportive.

IIT Kharagpur has a lot of talented and hard working faculty. Most of the proffesors are very helpful and help us understand most of the things in practical way. In theory lectures and in labs, teaching assistants (TAs) are available to clear our doubts regarding various topics.
