IIT KGP is a different universe!!

Chemical engineering is vast as it opens many doors like even Biotechnology engineers learn chemical engineering and even pharma students learn chemistry. So, our labs are so well designed that from food technology to pharma drugs, everything is taught to us as without proper knowledge of chemicals, no pharma drugs can ever be produced.

From Pharma Companies to research laboratories and FMGC conpanies like Britannia, ITC, HUL ane various others need chemical engineers. So, when such hige corporate groups ink a deal with IIT KGP students its no less than 1 lakh per month as in some cases its even higher too. Placements are nearly 100% as its IIT KGP.

IIT KGP is only for scholars and fees is also in check. For Engineering along with hostel fees all i pay is 2.8 lakhs a year. Reservation schemes, sports quota scheme and likewise innumerable scholarships are available. One can check the scholarships circular on college website or there is a cell for it and people working there are very kind and helpful.

Techno management fest happened in Januaray and the name was Kshitij. Now it has become a trademark like remember the name, Kshitij. Our annual cultural fest has already made people dance on its tune as Spring Fest or SF is already that popular. Our campus which is over 2000 acres is a village in village itself.

There are many residence building's and i stay at Azad Hall of Residence. Most of these hostel's are named after freedom fighters and each hostel are of different capacity. Just like various hostels, there are various mess too. So, hostel life is like music to the ears as we are always chirping and climbing from one room to the other.

Look, one can debate that Chemical engineering shouldnt have been mh first choice but when it comes to college, IIT KGP was my only choice if by any chance, i was getting admissions there. Admissions are merit based as Mains cut-off can bring you here and that has what brought me here its just that i couldnt get branch of my choice.

Taskmasters is what i call my professors as they believe in giving us tasks in numbers. Before one ends we are thrown next and punches keep coming. By punches i mean tasks or the assignments as in Chemical engineering we are taken for labs but we also have equal number of theoretical assignments too. I have assigned to do impossible as to pick and choose my favourite faculty and that would be Sandeep Sir.

Bombay Cinema a movie hall which is close to our campus remains our only hope for movies. Otherwise there ar3 parks ane lakes like the Lake Park and Hijli Eco Park. For food we already have sk many canteens in our campus that apart from Dominos and Cafe Coffee Day, are the only two places i go out for munching.
