Remarks

VIVA Institute is a fairly decent college some lecturers are good while some of them are bad. There was a faculty named Bhusan sir in electrical department who used to drink alcohol and come to college. The professors don't work by logic they work by attitude. The placements for first batch (passed in 2013) were disappointing. Very few companies came for campus recruitment. The college management need to work on many factors.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course was only theoretical and lack of practical knowledge. The curriculum failed to groom me to industry-specific knowledge. The Curriculum was outdated and is not matched with the current industrial needs. The campus placement were organised but the company didn't hired any students.I faced a lot of difficulty in getting placed after completing my graduation. Although the industrial visits were organised by college but it was just for fun.

Placement Experience

0.5

Only 1 or 2 companies visited our campus, sorry I don't remember their names. The recruitment process begins with aptitude test followed by group discussion(not mandatory),then the face to face interview with the recruiter. The placement percentage is less than 5% in fellow years. In 2013,only 1 or 2 students were placed in whole college. The institution lacks in preparing students for the placement process.

College Events

1.5

The college organization many festivals mostly on technical side. TECHCHASE is organized by our college in which students of different branch (mechanical, computers, electrical, extc, civil ) organized different technical games. Most famous is "HITAISHI" which is annual festival by whole college in which other college students are also invited to participate. And sport days are also there to refresh our mind.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The program fee was 225000 total for 4 years of course. The mode of payment is cash or cheque.Although the fee for this course is increasing gradually so it is expensive course. There are no additional fees charged in order to secure an admission in our course. Yes the college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn't offer any type of scholarship and education loans to students.College does not provide any kind of loan facility. Though they definitely help students to take advantages of different schemes such as EBC that is economical backward cast and freeship so students get benefits

Campus Life

3

There is a very good campus nature connected. There is little gender ratio is different as per department of engineering. As for example computer section having more girls as compared to civil or mechanical engineering section, there is mostly 15 maximum amount of girls. There are lot of extra curricular activities in colleges. Labs are quite nice. Ground is main concern for students. There is no specific big ground for college. students play cricket volleyball like game near the empty space beside college.Robotics events are held in college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facility is not there because all the students are coming near by only i.e Vasai, borivali, andheri and some are from dahanu road. Hostel is not required actually because the college timing is 8:45 and all the students can come till that time.

Alumni/Alumna

As ours was first batch in our newly de eloped college, there was no alumni network and senior students at that time.

Admission

I opted to choose this course to get a good career in engineering field. At the time of joining,it was newly developed college infact we were the pilot batch. I choose this institute as it was newly developed and located in urban areas surrounded by mountains and dams.I need to go through a CAP process for admission in college.

Faculty

2.5

There were 5 to 6 lecturers in my course, average age would be around 35-40, qualification- post graduation. The lecturers were not expertise but good enough in providing clarity about the subjects. The lecturers didn't hold any type of industrial experience but some of them were holding certifications.

Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
