Remarks

The college is reputed one and the most sought after because it is one of the few government colleges in haryana. the faculty here is well experineced and helping. one area the college needs to improve upon is the strengthening of the alumni network and

Entrance Preview

One has to participate in the online counseling held by the technical education deptt in three phases in the month of may june. the admissions are made on the basis of JEE scores. there are a few seats reserved for the Kashmiri Migrant candidates in each college for which a separate list is drawn on the basis of combined marks of JEE and 12th class marks. the seats are alloted according to the final merit and the choice of college and branch preferences given by the candidates during the counselling procedure. I got admission under the KM category in which my rank was 85 and my I got my fifth choice which I had given in the form.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum has been revised recently and is quite good. the faculty members are well experienced. most of them are IIT alumni. However there arent adequate facilities for research yet which is why the doctoral programme has not been started yet. Currently a masters programme is being run but even there the students have to go to some industry for their research as apart of their thesis

Internships Opportunities

For internship, the companies do not visit the campus. however the students are given a choice to choose a company of their choice and undergo the summer training after 2nd and 3rd year which is a part of the curriculum. i had done my training from ONGC ankleshwar and IIIM jammu.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement scenario is better than previous years. Some core companies like Escort, Vedanata do visit the campus but the bulk of the recruitment is done by the software companies like TCS while others pursue higher studies. the placement % ranges somewhere betwee 60-70. the average package is about 3-3.5 lpa

College Events

4

The annual techno-cultural fest is Techno-Rhythm and is held every year in the month of September. a large number of students within the campus as well as from the nearby colleges participate in the three day event. various technical competitions like LAN gaming, robotics, completions at departmental level are organized. besides cultural events are also organized like singing , solo dancing, group dancing, battle of bands etc . the main attraction is the star night and jam session which is organized on the last night of fest. (i remember kumar vishwas and karma band came during our time)

Fees and Financial Aid

There are ample scholarships available for the students (both state and central govt). some of them include McM, fee waiver for SC ST students, fee concession as well as special scholarship of half the tuition fee for KM students. regarding loans there is an SBI branch located inside the campus which provides easy education loans to the students.

Campus Life

4

The campus is very good. there are 4 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for the girls. the gender ratio is surprisingly good here considering that Haryana is among the states with lowest sex ratio. however most of the people here are north indians only. aapart from studies focus is also laid on the extar curricular activities for the overall development of students. college sports day is organised annually which includes cricket, football and athletics championships. beisdes a techno-cultural fest Techno-Rhythm is organized every year which includes various technical competitions like robotics, workshops as well as the cultural events.. also the students are motivated to participate in the teachnical fests or sports events held in other colleges.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not good. once, TCS had come for placement drive one of the alumni of college was sitting in the interview panel. everyone thought that he would help the students but to everyones shock he rejected almost all the students. besides there are many others who are placed at good positions in good companies but due to weak network we are anot able to have them for placement drives.

Faculty

4

There are 4 boys hostels and girls hostels (some more may be coming up in the near future). For boys, the first year hostel are given on sharing basis but second year onwards one can avail individual rooms However for girls the rooms are provided on shari

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics

I am a Delhite and my college is on outskirts of Delhi and also i being residing near du north campus used to think i will enjoy the same college life. but being into a professional (b.tech) course gave me a different view of college and its life. i came to know how to lead a professional ethic life, learnt some good meaningful things.college management is getting strict day by day for laws against students but the other tasks like things that need to be get done from peon are not getting done. ac's dont work even after complaints. in total the college needs a great improvement else it will keep running the business with no fruits.
