Remarks
Not so good management I would say and improvement is very much required.
Course Curriculum Overview
This is a very major issue that I have to face and I hope almost all the students faced at that time. Firstly, most of the teachers in our tumes are junior teachers some I think was recent college passouts while some departments had good senior teachers. There was a industrial visit done by our college authority and it was a one day visit. Only one place where I felt that the college was trying atleast 1% in making students fit for professional grounds was the Humanities class. Other than this I have not experienced anything extra ordinary where the college had tried to make students fit for the outer world.
Placement Experience
The word "PLACEMENT" was surely a joke in our college. Extremely bad placement. I remeber that a furniture company came to hire core engineering graduates to work in their firm with a salary of 1.4L PA and that too in a different state. Whenever any new placement notice came, we have been informed by our TPO over email and notices but almost 99% of the times the companies were like the above mentioned ones. In our year and in our deoartment only 4 to 5 students got jobs from ON-Campus drive and this was the scenario in other departments too. There was no special trainings provided for the interviews except for the Humanities class and that too for the first 2 years only and not after that.
College Events
There were very few events that were organized by our college out of which most of the events were done by student funds and not from college funds. Some events and cultural programmes are: 1) Football Tournament 2) Cricket Tournament 3) Car Display 4) College Fest 5) Saraswati Puja 6) Tech Fest
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college does provide transparency in fee- breakdown but the fees structure is much higher compared to the other colleges. It varies by almost 4 to 5 thousand per semester. The mode lf payments accepted were by Demand Draft. I would not say bad about this because they have maintained transparency and have also given back the security deposit money on time.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no scholarship provided by the college nor did I have heard about any scholarships which the college gives.
Campus Life
The campus life was not that bad I would say because whatever your college be like but friends are a whole different part and in our college that was no exception. But since there is no Student Union in our college, so the politics part was a big NO that time. The gender ratio varies from department to department. In core fields like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil engineering the ratio of boys was much higher that that of girls whereas in depts like Ece, IT there the ratio of boys to girls was like 55:45 approx.
Hostel Facilities
No. But there are no college owned hostels. If you opt for hostels they send you to some nearby rental flats and the food was served in our canteen. The hostel fees was also higher than other PG's nearby.
Alumni/Alumna
We have not faced any kind of problems with them infact they were pretty much helpful and helped us in many cases.
Admission
I have been intimidated about the admission date over phone and the admission process was quite a hotchpotch. The fees structure was also higher than other private engineering college those days. It almost varied my 4k to 5k from other reputed colleges.
Faculty
The faculty was the major issue that time. I have seen four to five Principal in my tenure of four years. Some good faculty members were there in our 1st year but they left after that and most of the teachers we had got were mainly junior teachers and recent college passouts. The HOD's are well qualified ofcourse but I dont think we have got that type of grooming which is required in today's world. As a whole, not a satisfactory set of faculties that I/we have experienced.
