There are new constructions as well as renovations taking place all the time in the campus. The cultural fest of NITK is one of the largest fests in the country. The tech fest is not up to the mark can be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is carefully drafted to ensure that the students have enough theoretical and practical knowledge in their respective fields. In every semester, there are two quiz exams, a mid sem and an end sem exam per subject. Assignment depends upon course instructor.
Placement Experience
Placements in NITK are very good. We have a separate training and placement cell which is now called CDC (career development centre). More than 300 companies visit the campus every year. The average package offered is around 7.2 lacs per annum. The placement percentage of our College is up to 92%. Nitk offers a summer internship and selections are based on academic performance. The interns are given a stipend of Rs. 200 per day.
College Events
ENGINEER(Tech fest) - ENGINEER is the annual technical festival of National Institute of technology Karnataka.Due to the constant efforts of the team ENGINEER have begun largest technical festival of Karnataka and progressing continuously to go on the top in south india. INCIDENT(Cultural fest) - Incident brings together the perfect amalgam of brilliance, class and madness to mesmerize your senses. Dance, Music , Literature, Fashion, Sport- name it, there's an event for all! And to top it all there are beach events too.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible Compared to private Colleges in india the fees is reasonable. There is a concession given to poor students. Tution fee per semester is Rs.62,500. Extra Rs.1000 has to paid while taking admission. Hostel fee for shared allocation is Rs.6000 per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
No i have not availed any scholorship. B R Samaga scholarship: This is for 2nd year b.tech students who stays in NITK hostel. The student must be economically very poor ( to be judged by a commitee constituted by the trust) and should secure min 6 sgpa and grade in semester 1 and 2.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is not up to the mark(20 girls per 100 boys). Paid as well as free workshops are fairly regular. Labs are well equipped with trained instructors who are helpful. As the students are from all over the country and also from nepal,bhutan,etc. there is generally a very high tolerance level(my experience).
Alumni/Alumna
As the College is over 60 years old,the alumini network is well established. They appear for guest lectures and share their experiences in their respective field. The alumini also donate money and provide services to the College for further development
Admission
I gave JEE Mains and got AIR 12341. I registered for JOSAA councelling and was alloted this College and branch based on my jee mains rank and preferences order filled by me. Then i reported at NITK and confirmed my seat.
Faculty
The faculty is highly qualified and experienced. Most of them have PhDs in their respective fields from renowned Colleges. With the exception of a few, the faculty is helpful and interested in helping the students.
