Old building were not well maintained. Newly constructed one has a great infrastructure

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum consists of various subjecta related to business, economics & finance. A little bit of management is also taught Over the period of 3 years, i learnt about various laws, business structures, management style. specific knowledge was not there any. As for industrial visits, its all dependent on whether students want to go on one.

Placement Experience

I did not participated in campus placements but heard that the packages were not that high since it was a mediocre college. Recently got information that the college has started providing internship opportunities also.

College Events

Aaghaz - College fest, held in jan-feb. various cultural actiivities were there. students from all over the university come and participate in them. Cash & Kind rewards are given to them. celebrity performance is also there. students helps in organising the function. Commercium - commerce department fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible- it is a government college so fees is subsidised. Cash/Cheque/DD/net banking modes are accepted. Reven scholarship is provided on merit basis. Exam fees is charged seperately. Yes colleqge preovide transparency in the fee breakdown about how much % of fees is distributed to what.

Scholarship iis provided on merit basis. the better the marks, higher the chances are there that scholarship will be awarded

Campus Life

Gender ratio was even. Campus life was good. Location was central so easy to commute to any part of town. Extra curricular - Drama, Dance, Band, Cricket, Volleyball etc different activities were there. The cricket play ground is one of the best play ground in the entire university.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so good unless you have connection with teachers. Senior students were helpful.

Admission

Admission is based on the marks secured in 12th class. Marks are calculated on the basis of 4 subjects - 1language subject & rest any 3other. On the basis of that, forms are filled and a list/Cutoff marks is decided. Studentsbwho score above that cut off can get admission in the college

Faculty

There were 6 semester over 3 years and 5-6 subjects in each semester. so one can roughly calculate about the no. of lectures for each subject. Faculty consists of both young, dynamic people to old, experienced teachers. They used to teach us with all the possible examples from current market scenario. Some of those faculty wetlre expert in their subjects while some used to try their best to impart us the knowledege in the best manner they can.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Dyal Singh College: The Good, The Bad and The Confusing

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.

I was given this college on the basis of the score in the CUET Exam which i gave after my 12th. It was a tough exam i would say because compiting with 20 Lac plus students for just a seat in DU is not an easy task. While preparing the prefference sheet and combinations for the college in the admission process was a confusing task. So i select all the cobinations of courses and colleges which i was eligible and then i also select my course and college, but i never thought that i would get it, still though i was happy that i get to study in one of the DU college. St Stephens obviously as for Science, its one of the best DU college. The cut-offs on which the admission matters had a massive difference in the kind of marks i had vs the actual cut-off of St Stephens.
