Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As in commerce we know theoritical knowlege is being provided in schools and Colleges but here we got an opportunity to visit an industry and a project was wlso assigned to each individual to conduct a survey on any company belonging to any industry and their financial statements has to be shown.

Placement Experience

5

Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG, Future First, HDFC, PWC and many other big companies comes for the placement. all those students having 60+% in their 1st year exams are qualified for the written examination conducted by the companies. And the ones who pass are qualified for group discussion. After that personal interview takes place and this way the selection procedure is completed. Almost 80% of students get placed. yes they guide us about the selection procedure and also tells the way to study for cracking the selection process.

College Events

5

College conducts fest named as "Quest" in which celebrities are invited, in the same way they introduce Socials in which different bands are invited for the enjoyment. Saraswati puja is also conducted on a large scale. Foundation day and Sports day are also conducted on a huge scale and all have the compulsory attendance.each one of us are free to participate in any of the programs. Audition is conducted and the best one gets selected. They also conduct freshers for the new students and Farewell for the graduating one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very feasible. Mode of payment was cash. College union use to collect fees for conducting the programs as Goenka is a govt. College. No other additional fees/charges had to be paid in order to secure an admission. Its totally on merit basis. yes the College provide transperancy in the fee-breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

I dnt remember the scholarship names but yes there were two scholarships. One was for the single girl child, and The other was the BPL students. The ones who came from local trains had passes issued by the College for the concessions.

Campus Life

4

Its 50-50 ratio. There were many extra curricular activities in our College. No discrimination regarding gender, race, religion etc. Everyone was treated equally and got equal chances and opportunities for the same. Campus life was just awesome. We had sports days in our College which had compulsory attendance and was conducted very nicely. Since Goenka is a commerce College so we didnt had labs and competitions like robotics. We had debates on the different topics releated yo awareness and many other recent topics. Everything was conducted very nicely.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No as it is a Govt College so we didn't got the hostel facility. I lived in pg where we had all sorts of facilities like fooding, wifi, washing machine, tv. It costed INR 5500 for all these facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors were very helpful regarding every matter. they were very caring and provided help whenever needed regarding some attendance problem and also regarding studies.

Admission

This institution is on top under Calcutta university. Having very low fees and a good brand name. Got A* by NAAC and has compulsory attendance i.e. attending college bound with many disciplinary rules which one has to follow. Very nice faculty too.

Faculty

4.5

The best faculty one could ever get for undergraduate course. we were having total of 8 faculty every year for teaching us. They had an average age of 40-45 and are all having very high educational qualification. They provided all the information req on a particular topics and even solved our queries regarding any topic. Many of them have done CAs', CSs' and many other professional courses.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
