Review of Indira College of Engineering and Management

The college is far away from city Pune and there is no nearby hanging place except Dominos and McDonald's at 500m far from college. Also the transport facility lacks here so every new student have to struggle to reach to college. The college is far upto 10 kn from city. And no hostel is available outside the college so if you came from different city you have no other option left but to choose only college hostel. Which is good by the way. College management works quite effective and no cause no problem to students curriculum.

The course is according to the university I.e Savitribai Phule Pune University. The course is relevant to the brach we are studying. It contains every subject related to our branch. Every subject covered is important and helpful in future study. Also every year the course is updated with new information that is needed to study. The role of this study in making us professional graduate is sufficient. The only thing that lacks is practical knowledge is limited in this college and particularly this university. The practicals are conducted related to various tests related to study. But the core construction practical processes to be known is skipped. Many site visits are conducted each semester. It helps a little about to know whats happeing everywhere in construction industry. The engineering consists of 4 years and 8 semesters. One semester contains 5 subjects. Exam of one semester is conducted in two parts I.e 30-70 marks written exam. And I think thats the best way to carry the curriculum which helps in learning easily.

The placement in civil branch is low. As there are limited companies which come to our campus. These range maximimum of 5. And other than that the core related civil company are less. Most of the company which comes are related to non technical I.e sales and service. The steps covered for placement are as follows 1. A form is filled those who are interested in placement. 2. After that we have to attend the scheduled date of company in college. 3. Placement os conducted in three part I.e aptitude test,group discussion,personal interview. 4. Result is declared in some day and documentation process is done. The tentative percentage that are selected in placement are about 5% in civil engineering,30% in mechanicalengineering and >60% in computer engineering. As most of the civil branch related students tends to work on their own less students are interested in placement. Yes,every week aptitude and soft skill lectures are conducted. Also guest lectures of professional people is conducted. This helps the one who wants to get placed in companies.

Gathering,Techno ICEM, Civilian hackathon, Games related to branch,inter college sports event and many more are conducted. There is only one big event in a year which is divided in sports day, prize distribution, gathering, indoor games and dance. Anyone can show their talent here. Also food stalls are arranged by students on their own.

The overall fee range from Rs.90,000-95,000. The payment can be done through debit or credit card with 2% charges,demand draft,cheque,online transfer like NEFT,RTGS etc. The payment cannot be done by cash. No there are no additional charges to be paid. The overall fee includes everything from tution fee to university charges. The only fee we need to pay afterwards is the exam fee every semester which is about Rs.1000. This fee is for open students rest other all category can get their benifits from filling scholarship form. Those who come under reserved catergory can get concession by submitting documents and filling online form.

Yes the college offers concession in fee for reserved category students only. The scholarship can be availed by giving required documents. A scholarship form needs to be filled online. Every instruction procedure and scholarship related update is provided by the college in whatsapp group and notification. The average sum provided is Rs.6000 for SC category while OBC and open can get freeship upto Rs.50,000. Also TFWS category is there, where top 3 students are selected from every branch through CET exam. This fee is around Rs.10,000. Also for J&K migrants fee is around Rs.30,000.

Male:female ratio is 1:0.75 College have number of labs for each subject. Also computers labs are provided with internet available. And as students comes from different state and region their is no racism and castism. Everyone cooperates very well. And no such events are conducted which will create hate between students instead girls are provided with motivational guest lectures where they are taught how to deal with racism,rape,acid attack etc. So overall no such things happen which can generate hype about negativity.

Yes I have opted to hostel. I have lived there for about two years. The hostel is present in college campus. The hostel is really good with fully furnished tiles bed,cupboards,shoerack,dustbin,bigsized window,table and chair separately available for every students. Each room has capacity of three students. The bathroom is also divided in two parts and available with western toilet. Also every day housekeeping staff cleans the hostel which is the most good part of it. Clean hygienic cold water is available outside room 24/7.

As I have lived in hostel for about 2 years I know very well about seniors. They are quite helpful in providing study material as well as helping in study at exam time. As the hostelier consists of students from different region they are very kind to everyone. But it also depends on how we approach to them. I have quite great experience in hostel with seniors. Finally I want to say It doesn't let you feel alone.

I got the admission through MH-CET exam. The admission process here is conducted in three rounds. At first we need to list colleges according to our priorities and location where we are supposed to go. In every round a college is selected according to our marks and cutoff. We can freeze or float the alloted college. If we want to go to the alloted college we can freeze or else if want to proceed in further round we can float. This can be done in government provided facilitation centre. The whole admission process and document verification is carried in facilitation centre. The admission process begins after the result of MH-CET and in the end first week of June to the last week as college starts from the August month I opt for civil engineering because it is core branch and as India is developing country infrastructure is going to develop as well. I choosed this instituion as Civil engineering is good in this college regarding the staff, curriculum and course. The admission process is easy and is carried within an hour. The only thing we need is our last 10th and 12th marksheet with TC and the alloted letter of college. If we belong to OVC,SC,ST,NT,VJ category we need to provide more document such as caste certificate,validity,non creamy layer,birth certificate,income certificate,domocile etc.

The no. of lectures taken are 5 with 1 practical of a subject everyday. In between 2 lunch breaks are given for refreshment. The age of the teacher staff is on an average of 40. In which 4 teachers are phd holder while 4 others are post graduated with experiene. All subjects are carried according ro university pattern. The teachers teaching here are good at their subjects and knows very well about it. But from 5 subject with 5 teachers teaching one is not perfect in it. In which we need to do self study for better understanding. 2-4 lecturer holds experiece of more than 8 years in teaching and less than 5 years in construction site. They are certified in participating civil related events like hackathon, constro etc.
