Remarks

Infrastructure is quite good. Classes are held in proper centralised AC classrooms while the college is right in the city centre. The only negative remark is that students do not get much support from the Dean Student Welfare for any events or activities and there is too much interference from Institute Security Cell.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure in Chemical Engineering is updated every 3 years in accordance with the industry. Our department is very good for research as new equipments have been procured along with newly constructed labs. 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam is conducted each semester along with a quiz before each exam. Exams are not chilled, you need to study if you want good grades. Labs are of 3 hours each, but it is worth for the learning in each experiment.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are comparatively good, every year normally 70% of the students get placed in Chemical Engineering. For Computer Science it is 95-100%, for Electronics & Communication it is 85-90%, for Mechanical & Electrical it is 70-75%, for Metallurgy it is 60-65%, for Civil it is 55%

College Events

4

Technical Fest: Sphinx (November, 3 days) Technical Robowars, coding challenges, workshops, competitions, departmental events, celebrity nights. Fairly great participation (200-300) Cultural Fest: Blitzschlag (February, 3 days) CACS society events, dance events, singing events, art events, celebrity nights. Huge participation (400-500)

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is slightly expensive compared to other NITs. For general category and 1. family income above 5 lakhs. Institute Fees: Rs. 82, 300 per semester. 2. Family income between 1-5 lakhs need to pay around 45, 000-60, 000 (can't say the exact figure) per semester. 3. Family Income below 1 lakh need to pay only 18, 000 per semester

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no loan or scholarship facility offered by the college. However there are various scholarship schemes provided by independent societies and organisations for the economically unsound students. Students can apply via Dean Student Welfare Office by submitting all required documents and applications. One can refer to the scholarships providers list in the below link http://www.mnit.ac.in/prospective_student/scholarship.php

Campus Life

4

Extracurricular Activities are plenty in our college. There is the CACS or the Creative Arts and Cultural Society which governs most of the clubs and societies. It has the following societies. 1. National Service Scheme 2. Fine Arts Society 3. Vyaktiva Srijan Society 4. Music, Dance & Spic Macay Society 5. Literary Society 6. Technical Society 7. Dramatics Society 8. Film & Photography Club It is mandatory for 1st & 2nd yearites to join any one of the above society. There are independent clubs which one can join such as 1. Energy Club 2. Rotaract Club 3. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 4. ALCOM - Alumni Committee Sport Activities are prominent here. We have basketball courts, kabaddi grounds, football & cricket ground, volleyball court, badminton court, TT court, Gymnasium, etc. Gender Ratio is 5 Boys: 1 Girl. Girls conduct Farewell cum Freshers party annually. Whereas boys do not conduct any such parties. There is a good student bonding with other community/religion/state students. There are groups such as UP group, Bihar Group, NE group, Bengali Group, Maharashtra Gujarat Group, etc. There are no college elections held. As students never get a clearance from authorities.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 5 hostels for 1st yearites (H1, H2, H3, H6, H7) From 2nd Year onwards, single rooms are given in the hostels H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, H7. Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is connected to the students via the Alumni Association. To set up more student interaction, they set up the Alumni Committee (ALCOM). Every year ALCOM conducts the Global Alumni Meet and helps in students getting internships in PSUs and other organisations.

Admission

Appeared in JEE Mains 2017 and secured a rank of 2495 AIR. Out of many options I wanted to pursue either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering as both have good scope in industry. But went for Chemical as it has less competition compared to Mechanical. After the JEE Mains result, we were given a 3 day slot for choice filling which we had to fill by decreasing order of our preferences for college and Branch. After locking the choices, results of round 1 of seat allotment come. If any college is allotted then we need to go for Document Verification in any nearby reporting centre. After verification of documents, we choose whether to freeze, slide or float the allotted seat. Freeze means to lock the college and branch you are allotted. Slide means to lock the college but upgrade to a different branch. Slide happens only if the new branch is above the allotted branch in the choice filling list and if seats are available. Float means to upgrade to different college in accordance to availability of seats in the choices above the one allotted in your preference list. I choose float option. In same way, results of round 2, round 3, and upto round 7 allotment list came. The one obtained in round 7 is the college and branch you will be studying. You then need to report to your college, where you need to verify your documents, then pay the institute fees in the academic section (online, no cash or DD will be accepted), collect your provisional allotment letter and finally collect info of your 1st year section. If you live in Jaipur, then you will not get hostel. Other students are asked whether they want hostel or not. Those who want hostel, they need to go to Hostel Office, pay the hostel fee there (online and DD both are accepted, no cash), then take the possession of the hostel room.

Faculty

3.5

There are good faculties as well as terrible ones. In my department, only 2-3 faculties are terrible rest are good. Most of the teachers are PhD degree holders from IITs, well experienced. Some professors like Kailash Sir, Manish Sir, Sushant Sir, Vyas Sir and Saharan Sir make students fall in love with their teaching.

Placement Experience:

Placement are decent in my point of view as college manage to provide campus placement to every eligible students as company ask for your Overrall grade point of the student and apply their standard as 6.5 ogpa or without any backlog and take exam of aptitude and it is based on company policy they take group discussion and then personal interview and if it is software company then coding rounds also. Students in7th semester are ready for placement. In current scenario 6 companies have visited the campus and around 40-45 offers has been given to students. Here each company come with only one package and different job roles some company came with 5.5 lpa and some with 5 lpa and some with 7 lpa so maximum till now from college is 7 lpa and average till now of placed students is 5.5 lpa. 60 percent of students get placed in past years stastics. My plan is to go for higher education ie mtech from good institution.
