Remarks

The college and motivated me to do my very best and thankfully I was able to secure a place for me at my chosen University. Very friendly and encouraging teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is apt for engineering. The exams are not too frequent so we have time for extra curricular activities. We have a midsem and an endsem for each semester. Midsem usually has 60% syllabus and 100% syllabus is covered in endsem but with less stress on the portions already covered in midsems.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is quite good.last year total offer crossed 1000 mark. Number of Companies 212 Number of Offers 1016 Specialisation with maximum placements BTech- CSE Highest Package 39.1 LPA

College Events

4

there are many fests in the NIT Rourkela. There are so many good clubs in this college and these were far and wide known in India. The fest of this college also attracted the students of neighbours college. I am telling you some fest name like- 1. The flagship tech fest. 2. Roots. 3. TechX Fests are a crucial part of the student life here at NIT Rourkela, where they act as welcome interruptions to the otherwise monotonous lives of the students. Furthermore, they also play a dual purpose by serving as magnets attracting students from neighbouring colleges, thus enhancing the reputation of the institute. Most of these clubs get a chance to showcase their skills/talents during NIT Rourkela's college festivals, held throughout the academic year namely NITRUTSAV, Innovision and Vriddhi. Monday Morning conducted a poll to take a measure of students reactions towards the number of fests at NITR and their overall attitude

Fees and Financial Aid

Student apply for scholarships through their state or central government such as NSP (National Scholarship Portal) PMS (Post- Matric Scholarships) (for SC-ST students) given by Odisha Government. NTS (National Talent Scholarship) given by Government of India. TCS scholarship for CSE students. Indian Oil Scholarship. ONGC scholarship. Balmer Lawrie Co. Ltd. Scholarship OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship (OPJEMS).

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is very cool here. Gender ratio is maintained as there is some Kota for female students. College have more than 50 active clubs which are run by students and regular competition is held among them. Spawn,CodeHub,Opencode are some of coding cub for debating we have hourglass toastmasters club which is internationally known. For drama couple of active club are ritvic and pantomime. Dancing is something which is worshipped in India we have two good dance club named as synergy and mavericks.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes,NIT Rourkela is a fully residential institute, that is, it is compulsory for students to stay in the campus hostels (exceptions under rare circumstances, for which permission has to be sought). Air conditioners are not provided in the hostel rooms and you are not even allowed to bring the ACs but you can use coolers in the hostel rooms if you need them. But in the second year hostels the common rooms are air conditioned

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini network here is known as NITRAA. Alumni of college are very helpful. As it is very old college so the alumini network is very vast.

Admission

I cleared jee main and through that I got the opportunity to take admission here. ADMISSION. In order to get into NIT, one must take the JEE (MAIN) exam and secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. Admissions are on the basis of rank in JEE (Main).

Faculty

3.5

Average age of the professor will be in 40-45. As new recruitment is going on. Professor are very expert in their respective field.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
