Remarks
The brand tag, the campus life, the job opportunities it provides it totally remarkable.I feel fortunate being part of this college. Academics is bit lenient but job opportunities and placements are quite good. Lenient Academics provides ample time to try numerous extra curricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
Across all engineering college academics structure is somewhat similar. IIT provides a good peer group of student if one is looking for research.Moreover Labs are much better compared to other college which gives an edge to have practical knowledge along with theoritical knowledge.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good. Considering job opportunities across non-core sector, most of companies recruit for non-core jobs only and packages ranges from crores to min 7-8lakhs oer annum. Average package varies from branch to branch. For my branch average package would be between 16-17 lakhs per annum as whole branch students were placed. My college ptovides internship as well and stipend depends on profs under whom you are doing your internship.
College Events
Cultural fests like Kashiyatra.technical fests like -Technex, sports fest like Spardha and photography fests like FMC weekend these are quite good fests which attracts participation from numerous college and other IITs. Moreover Inter IIT fests also provides talented students to showcase their skills.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its feasible. Due to govt. Organisation it depends on category as per reservation policy. For general category students its bit expensive costing 2lakhs for a year whereas if your parental income is below 5laks there will be no academic charges.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many centrally funded scholarships like MCM etc. Moreover govt. Intiatives can help you in getting interest free education loans. Also SBI provides scholar education loan for IItians at cheaper interest rates.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is quite poor. Sports facilities are really good and one can master their skills plus competition offered is also great due to huge participations. Students from many diverse backgrounds like different caste, religion are admitted into college.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are old as most building are too old almost 80-90years old. But gardening makes it elegant. The greenery will give anyone totally different experience worth remembering. Every admitted student gets a seat in hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
IIT BHU offers vast network of alumni which are helpful and at various highly decorated positions. Manager of whole india level is from my college in company in which i am currently working.Even UP probable chief minister Manoj Sinha was from our college. Varun Grover is also from our college.
Admission
Students get admitted in this college through IIT JEE. If passed, based on All India Rank and one fills branch preference in different IITs. Based on AIR and their preferences students are allocated seats into IITs. After document verification students are admitted. There is no any interview process only IIT JEE exam has yo be cleared.
Faculty
I was not satisfied with Faculty of my specific department but there were few profs who were very enthusiastic to teach and help students.These were those who genuinely wanted to help students. Electrical branch in IIT BHU lacks good profs who are well versed at teaching methodology. But other branches had some quite good profs.
