Indian Institute of Technology BHU is one of the finest colleges in India with great alumni network and have good research, placements and internship drives. It will completely change you after graduation. Some bad things about college is that it has old infrastructure (but now slowly it is improving), some hostels are around 100 years. old which some students dont looe to live in but they have to.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pusuing b.tech. in Metallurgical Engineering and I am currently in 3rd year. The course curriculum is good and is also updated on official iit bhu website (google search it). We have two examinations mid sem exams and end sem exams. Each year has 2 semester and my course is of 4 years.
Placement Experience
Placement and internship of Indian Institute of Technology BHU are good and most of the students who apply for placements are placed. Manny companies started visiting around 1st August and ends till end of nov. and then again from Jan to March in next semester (same for internships). Companies:- Google, Amazon, GS etc. for non core and Tata Steel, HZL etc. for core Metallurgical companies.
College Events
Indian Institute of Technology BHU basically have 3 big fests and other departmental fests. Sports fest:- Spardha is organised around mid oct. Cultural fest:- Kashiyatra is organised in mid Jan. Technical fest:- Technex is organised in Feb end or mid march.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee for students who are in general/OBC students whose parents income is greater than 5 lakhs is around 1,08,000 per sem +12000 mess fee. and for <5 and >1 it is around 39000+12000mess fee and for <1 it is around 20000+12000 mess fee per semester. Also other scholarships can be applied if eligible.

Campus Life
Campus life is good, it is much greener than the city outiside campus, also there is less traffic inside campus.Gender ratio in my branch is around 1:9 but it is increasing every year because of government reservation of girls. There are multiple events in every field takes place throughout the year. Also, many renowed persons visits campus and share their ideas, organises workshops to sharpen students skills.
Alumni/Alumna
Indian Institute of Technology BHU has one of the strongest alumni network across India. The college was IT BHU earlier and is around 100 years ld and thus have plenty of alumni. Also, the campus is ragging free and there are strict anti ragging rules. Seniors quite good here and they will support you regardless of the department you are in.
Admission
For admission into IIT'S we have to first clear JEE Mains and then clear JEE Advance and get a rank below 10000 to get a seat in any 23 IIT'S. I have cleared both exams in 2017. My jee mains was on 2 April and Jee advance was on 21st may and result of advance was alloted in mid june.
Faculty
Indian institute of Technology have the best faculties in India. They are well experienced and they help you to clear every doubt in your course. Generally no. of classes or lecture hours decreases after 3rd semester. Currently in 6th sem I have 14 hrs. of theory lecture, 3 hrs. practical, 2hrs. tutorial per week.
