Good college for civil engineering

College is pretty good for civil engineering branch and fairly good for other streams too. Staff is overall good. One can opt for various courses and get involved in various cultural and technical events which are held thouroughout the year.

I feel my course curriculum is somewhat outdated. We are being taught methods/techniques which are not used anymore. New modern techniques much be a part of our curriculum. Exams are not much stressful as we get sufficient time before the exams during our preparation leave(normally 10 days off before exam). Labs are the fun part of engineering but the machines we use for research much bhi updated, which is not the scenario.

Job opportunities in any engineering other that IT is not good. One need to work hard on overall development of self and stay ahead of every to grab a good job. Extra knowledge of computer applications and internship play decisive role in job interviews.

Our college celebrates several festival such as independence and republic day. Ganesh chaturthi is one the big events held in our college. Tech-fest and cultural days are also celebrated in out college for about 4-5 days each. Various nearby colleges participate in various events held in our college.

Fees is around 1Lakh per annum for General category students. Other minorities get their respective fees benefit. This is the average fees one can expect from any engineering colleges in Mumbai. One can apply for EWS scheme whclich is economically weaker sections with Annual family income less then 6lakh and get a 50% refund on fees.

Our college has zero tolerance to any kind of nuisance in the college. The overall environment for everyone is good. Labs are equipped with the necessary tools, they are a bit outdated though just as every other College.

Our college conducts several seminars where our alumni working in different sectors are invited and we get their perspective on the need of the industry and about scope of future studies. It helps us in decision making for our future endeavours.

I entered civil engineering because of my family background. I have had interest in construction process of unique structures. Designing of structures is my area of interest. My second option was mechanical engineering. My admission in engineering was based on MHT-CET score.

Faculty of the college is pretty good. Teachers are very interested in overall development of the student, obviously if the student is interested firstly. The young teachers which are brought for teaching purpose must be given role as assistant in labs or as secondary teaching staff so that they get familiar with the overall process.
