It was a very good 4 years of my life there were ups and down but that is just part of life isnt it.
Entrance Preview
AIEEE, 97I opted orissa engineering college because it was a very renowned college in the State of orissa. It was among the top 5 colleges in the state which made me choose it. Also it's placement was very renowned and famous.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was not so good from the university side as there were far too many electronics paper in the branch of IT.There were IT related subjects in the curriculum but Electronics paper where just waste of time and hard work for the students as we had to study a lot in terms of subjects which are not required in future.
Internships Opportunities
No my college does not i have never heard of such programs in my college the only thing college had were good labs.
Placement Experience
The placement of the college was indeed very good although in my time the college placement were not good as the market was for IT companies as well as the core companies were a little slow but i would not blame this on the college. The College had a very good placement cell which helps the student a lot.
College Events
My college fest was very famous all over the capital of the state as many celebrity visited the college in these fest. I remember seeing a famous band/ singer in each year of my college. College spends a lot of money on these occasions which is good and very joyful.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its was not very cheap nor very expensive depending upon the college name it was affordable for most of the student. Although the bus bus facility was not optional which should have been as many of us did not use bus but had to pay for the same. The Library needs work and better books as the books did not match the magnitude of money that was paid by the student.
Fees and Financial Aid
I dont about this section as i did not used it nor did any of my friends the college was not very expensive that one would require loan that too from college side there were no scholarship from college side, none that i know of.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are lots in therms of games( indoor and outdoor )the college team go to various places too for playing diff games and participating in diff competition Although the involvement of girls in those activities are limited i did not understood about this my whole college life the fest brought many extra curriculum activities for the students of all the years.
Hostel Facilities
This is among the negative sides of the colleges as the college has hostel which could accommodate oly aroud 400 students which was really not good generally what happened was, only first year used to live in the hostel which makes it fun for the first year no hostel for girls in the college campus the food provided by the college in the hostel is disastrous.
Alumni/Alumna
No alumni network from the college side but student on the personal basis keep in touch with the seniors which was a good thing.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is not related to college but the university the university of BPUT really needs work as the administration is really having a bad time. But talking about the college, the exams were really clean and peaceful the bus facilty was fabulous during the exam which is really appreciated by me personally.
Faculty
The faculty was very qualified but at the same time were not student friendly. I would not like to take names here but they really threatened students as they handled the Lab marks which was not good. Our HOD however was very good and strict on the same time.
