Remarks
The college is very safe even though in outskirts and the teachers are quite strict related to any activity causing indiscipline in the campus. The uniform needs to be changed and the night canteen is required in every hostel.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very similar to other engineering colleges but the research options available here are few compared to others. In the first year, we had labs 5 days a week but eventually, we were made to attend branch-specific labs and it was 3 in final years.
Placement Experience
Yes, the college provides internships. The placements are quite good for software branches but for core branches, it is quite less. The average package was 3.5 Lakhs p.a. The companies are TCS, Vedanta, net 2 source, Wipro.
College Events
Total 16 functions occurred during our time in a year. The fests are generally organized by 3 Rd years. Annual techno-cultural fest that is horizon is quite grand, it includes participants from lots of colleges in Odisha for all the events concluding the three days fest with DJ night with famous DJ shadow Dubai and celebrities like Gajendra Verma, Harshit Saxena, DJ Shireen.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite affordable. The students are also provided different scholarship like medhabruti and prerana which covers nearly half to 80% of the fees. Overall the course includes nearly 1.5 lakhs to 2 lakhs for 4 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
Medhabruti was the scholarship that I was entitled to which was 10k per year and sc St students were provided prerana of nearly 63k in a year. Also, the course fees were exempted for physically challenged students.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was 6 boys to 1 girl. We had a hostel feast every semester and there were hostel freshers and hostel farewell organized at specific hostels. There were students from all around Odisha and outside states with nominees from northeastern states too.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are sharing ones with 5 to 4 in a room. The hostels are provided free of cost to all the students, we only had to pay the mess fees which was 14000 per semester. The hostel's rooms have tiled flooring with a TV room and gym available. The hostel also has badminton courts WiFi access and CCTV surveillance.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and the seniors are very helpful. They are in every sector and department and I have gained a lot of help in deciding what to pursue after college by my seniors regarding coaching, higher studies, and various new options available.
Admission
The entrance exam ranks decide the options available to get admission. My college is ranked 2nd best government college in Odisha and it has experience of nearly 35 years. So joining this institute was definitely my choice and the best choice.
Faculty
The faculty in my stream that is electrical engineering is quite qualified. We had our hod and professor from the IISC and IITs.they helped us a lot in checking out new options for seminars rather than the theory options available.
