The college is good in many fields may it be academic or placements or extracurricular activities. It needs to develop labs a bit more to be at par with elite institutes in india like iits or nits or iits.
Course Curriculum Overview
The couse curriculum is good infact. We have a new syllabus which was introduced from the year 2018 itself based on the recommendations of AICTE which was infact formulated by MAKAUT and is almost same as our college syllabus as it is a autonomous college, so syllabus depends
Placement Experience
The placement opportunity is quite good in the college. The Training and placement cell works a lot in this regard to refer students for intern in good places and also for placements. Also in our college people can do internships under professors ie research interns.
College Events
Sristi, the tech fest of the college is held generally in the 3rd weekend of February which generally is for 3-4 days this year it was in its 10th anniversary. Jeclat, the cultural fest is the biggest in the region and is held for 8 days.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Just 1 thousand rupees a month so 6k per semester. Being a government college, fees are subsided by the state government. The fees is quite feasible and also tfw i.e. tuition fees waiver is there for poor students
Fees and Financial Aid
60000 for those who got 75%+ in 12th under swami Vivekananda scholarship and are from WB board and 20100 for SC, ST, OBC students irrespective of marks under oasis category. Also full and half fee waiver is there for poor students who dont come under this category
Campus Life
Labs are adequately equipt. Gender ratio though is quite bad, religion has no space inside the campus though. Politics is absent with no students union or such. Sports is quite good inside the campus. Several intercollege tournaments take place in our college for cricket, football and volleyball. Our college has separate cricket and football grounds and also two volleyball courts, basketball court, badminton court, etc
Hostel Facilities
Yes, hostels are good and livable. In 1st and 2nd years rooms are triple sharing, in 3rd year they are double and single rooms are available in 4th year. Apart from that high speed LAN connection is also there
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni association is quite strong and has a very good presence. They also guide us in bridging the gap between college and industry. They helps us to be ready for placements. Also several alumnis who are professors in IITs help the current students
Admission
I had to appear for WBJEE and then after scoring a decent rank there, as i am a candidate from unreserved category, applied for online counselling then according to choice filling, i got the seat reserved for me in this college in ECE department
Faculty
The faculties in our college are good infact and also are highly educated. They are friendly with the students which also increase the student to faculty relationship which is highly required for proper understanding by the students.
