Overall good experience

Overall experience will be good. Just attend the events held in the college. Attend the workshops held. You will get to learn a lot. You will get a good environment and guidance to excel in your field of interest.

Course curriculum is bit outdated. Every year, they are trying to improve it so that it is at par with the fast changing world. Exams and labs are chilled. If you are willing, you can work on projects with the faculty members and get your research papers published.

Overall placements are good especially in CSE and ECE departments. Many MNCs visit here for internships too. They offer handsome stipend. And if you performed well over there, there is chance of pre placement offers too.

Every year, one techno managerial fest Techniti and one cultural fest Utkansh is organized in the campus. Students from all over the country participate in the events held. Apart from that, technical workshops and cultural events are held almost every month.

Overall fee structure is expensive. But if your income is less, you will be eligible for fee concessions. You have to pay 71k per semester if you are a general category student. Concessions are based upon category as well as income.

College website is updated about the scholarships available. There will be eligibility criteria for each of them based on income, category or academic records. You can apply for them and avail the scholarship if approved. Many of my friends have availed it. Some state governments offer scholarships for the students of their state too.

Every year, athletic fest is held in the college. Apart from that, you can join football, basketball, volleyball or cricket teams and visit other colleges for the tournaments. There will be many teams like Team cultural affairs, team technical affairs, literary and debate clubs, dramatics club, music and dance club. You can join any of these and persue your interest.

You will get shared hostels in the first and second year. After that, boys are alloted single rooms. Hostel seats are few, so if you are from jalandhar, there are chances that you will not be able to get hostel.

Every year, alumini meet is held in the month of april. The batch that graduated 25 years before is invited. They motivate the students and help them too. Many of them sponsor the technical teams and guide them too.

Josaa conducted counseling process every year in the month of may or june. You can register if you have clear jee mains. Fill the choices and get the seat according to the merit. There is no interview for admission in btech.

Faculty varies from department to department. Some departments like mechanical and electronics have really good and qualified teachers. Maths, physics and chemistry departments have the best faculty. Teachers generally prefer to teacher from PowerPoint presentations.
