All about LDCE Gujarat

The college is pretty good in my honest opinion. My views towards the college are not baised at all. It has given me the most important years of my college life and I wish to cherish it always. So yeah, my experience has been positive.

The day at my college is rather chill and sometimes it gets hectic as well. The course structure is provided by Gujarat Technological University so it is the same in all of Gujarat for students studying the same course as you. The elective subjects can vary depending on the college. The labs are sufficient but not much training is given to all students.

Placement is the sole reason why I chose my college after 12th. Placement of LDCE is the staple of Gujarat government colleges. Almost all the students get placed with a sufficient amount of package in a reputed or local company around India.

LDCE hosts several events and clubs in the college. Lakshya is an annual technical techfest in the college.It is a state level fest where all the students from Gujarat can participate. We also host Tarang- a space fest for science and spacegeeks. It is the first nationwide spacefest in a college.

Fees are very affordable because the college is a government run college. The fees for an Engineering graduate in UG is 1500 rupees per year which is nothing compared to other private colleges. The fees are to be paid annually and some taxes and other misc fees are also calculated along with it.

Students can opt for MYSY or other scholarship schemes by Gujarat government. MYSY is Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana which pays half the college fees of a student if the student is securing good grades without backlogs. Caste scholarship are also offered to SEBC, SC/ST students.

The extracurricular activities are also good at our college. The college teams participate in several national level sports festivals with teams in Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball, KhoKho etc sports. We also have a table tennis room and canteen as well.

The LAA is a club in LDCE which stands for LDCE alumni Association. The club hosts several seminars and events such as technical seminar, higher study guides etc. They also host a Garba festival in Navratri where alumnis meet up with current students and share their experiences in the college.

After 12th exam, you register online with ACPC which is the Admission Committee for Professional Courses by stating your 12th marks, JEE marks, caste etc. They then put up a Provisional merit list and rank you among all aspiring Engineering students. Then you fill up your choices priority wise online and wait for results. There are multiple rounds for choice filling. Luckily I got selected in the first round because of good rank and my choice was fulfilled. Then you finalize your choice by submitting documents at the college and paying the fees in a bank.

The faculties are the heart of your college experience. For me, faculties can be a bit frustrating as well as friendly at times. They expect you to be as good as an IITian even if they themselves don't have the knowledge of an IIT lecturer. This needs to change at my college.
