Remarks
Faculty is amazing. Placements are nice. Industry knowledge is great. Mess food is average. Hostel infrastructure is amazing have individual washourooms in each room. Rooms are on sharing basis. Admin department is bery helpful. Student mentors are assigned. One thing that is lacking is core economics. Only MSc economics have core economics others have finance trade and agriculture as their core.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum focus more on finance rather than economics. It's core is economics principals with application in financial world. The course is divided in 20 subjects spread over 4 semesters. Exams are conducted periodically Curriculum is hectic but this view is subjective. Some students find it easy some difficult. I would rate it mediocre.
Placement Experience
1. Placements are fairly nice. Almost 70% student's sitting for placements get jobs in the 3rd semester itself. 2. Internship opportunities are little less. 3. Major are of placements is Data analysis and risk management. 4. I am placed in Fractal Analytics as a consultant (data scientist) 5. Highest package -15.5 LPA AVERAGE - 8.25 LPA
College Events
All the festivities are celebrated by the students both in the hostel and college. Majority of the students are from north so all the northern festivals are celebrated. Also students from Calcutta etc celebrate Saraswati Pujo etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. 475000 including the hostel fee. Includes tuition fee Mess charges Hostel charges Electricity Cleaning Maintenance All this for 2 years course. Laptops are required to be brought by the students themselves.
Fees and Financial Aid
All major banks offer student loans for the college and hostel fee. I opted loan from Oriental Bank of commerce at an interest of 10.5% This loan can be extended for stationary charges and books for curriculum.
Campus Life
Girl to boy Gender ratio - 7:3 Hostel festivies - Budget given by college for every celebration Zero tolerance for ragging and any unethical activity. Hostel gates timing - 5 Am -12 am German exchange program happens every year. Students from germany also come here to study forr 1 semester.
Alumni/Alumna
We have an alumni committee. We have an alumini meet every year. Alumini network is very strong which helps placement cell to expand theur network Alumini committee organized ted x this year. Some alums have gone for further studies abroad which helps students to pursue their interest in academic as well.
Admission
Firstly they took preference for courses out of: M.Sc. Economics M.Sc Financial Economics M.Sc. International Business Economics and Finance M.Sc. Agricultural Business Followed by an entrance exam Then rankings came out. I got a rank - 138 and got my 1st preference- M.Sc. Financial Economics Then got a call for admission. Moved from Delhi to Pune.
Faculty
Faculty is amazing. Well qualified And guest faculties also visit frequently. Teaching is amazing. Learnt practical applications of the subject on R, PYTHON, TABLEAU, and Excel Lab classes are also conducted.
