Remarks
The college will try to screw you over for your mistakes but somehow you will be able to handle things. There are teachers who understand you but there are many teachers who wont understand your problem and will not at all try to help you. Try following the rules ajd regulations and remain in the good books of teachers. There is a bit of discrimination there towards north Indians but you can handle all of that.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was changed during the period of the course in order to make it better and to meet the industry standards. The exams occurs every few months and the labs occur for a selected courses and that too only once a week. You have projects in almost all courses which is kinda hectic but it helps you get the hands on experience. Overall i can say that the college is kinda strict about the rules but a good place to explore and learn stuff. Research options are also there. You can collaborate with faculty for research papers or journals.
Placement Experience
The placements are really good. Around 600 companies visited our college for the 2019-20 placements. The companies have to divided in to regular, dream and superdream companies. VIT ensures 100% placements.
College Events
Almost all south indian festivals are celebrated and some of the important north Indian festivals are also celebrated in a proper manner. The college authorities get too much involved and there are budget constraints and many restrictions but yeah they do get celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its is feasible. It depends on your rank in the entrance exama and the category in which you choose your branch. There are 5 categories. Category 1 fees is less and keeps on increasing towards category 5.
Fees and Financial Aid
Earlier there was a provision of scholarship in VIT. But it was stopped by the college authorities by 2017 batch. Usually any bank can provide you with the loan option. They just ask for a few details like the performance of student in school. The placement records and average package offered by the college.
Campus Life
There are different sorts of teams like football team, cricket team, hockey team, basketball team, table tennis and lawn tennis team. There sre many other teams which can help you learn technical stuff like racing teams and robotics team.There is also ENACTUS.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good and the infrastructure is also very fancy. They have established a reward based system. Basically if you attendance and CGPA is good you get to choose the type of room and the roommates you want. Being a 9 pointer has its advantages.
Alumni/Alumna
Yeah you can contact your seniors and get their help whenever you want. They understand your difficulties and try helping you out in whatever way they can. I myself give advice to my juniors regarding projects, assignments and placement procedure.
Admission
There is an entrance exam you have to attend. Its called VITEEE. After the result announcement you need to attend the counselling procedure. You can attend it from any of the 4 campuses namely Vellore, Chennai, Amravati and Bhopal. The college holds a reputation. The placements are really good. The course options are good. The campus is strict so it's a good choice regarding safety of students.The campus is less crowded as compared to the vellore campus and there are a lot of places you can visit.
Faculty
The faculty is overrated. Many have no clue about what has to be taught and how it should be taught but in college you learn to get independent. You need to understand that you yourselves have to study. Noone is gonna spoon feed you like school children. Its better to accept the reality as soon as possible.
