Remarks

In short Geonka college of commerce is one the best college in Kolkata.It is worth more than the money spent. one can complete his or her graduation within 5000 for the whole 3years. Isn't it surprising? But thats true

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is under Calcutta University and follows all guidelines issued by CU, the examination structure is based on CBCS rule. Also the college is strict with attendance norms as per CU. One needs to attain atleast 60% attendance in order to appear for the semesters.

Placement Experience

The college provides good placements in companies like delloite, KPMG and other renowned companies, I don't know about internship opportunities but yes I heard that some of the top students receives good placements

The college organises a varied events sush as annual fest, sports and other inter college programs, The fest of geonka college of commerce and business administration is quite popular among college students in Kolkata

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is one of cheapest college in terms of fees as this is a government sponsored college, the admission fees is around 600 rupees which amounts to around 3000-3500 for the whole 3years of graduation. Isn't it amazing?

Since, Geonka college of commerce and business administration is a government sponsered college there are a lot of schemes for scholarships to students, one can easily get loan to study in this college

The gender ratio cannot be determined easily but It can be reffered to be equal, students have got union namely Trinomool Congress students union, they help to solve several issues faced by the the students of the college.

Hostel Facilities

The college doesn't have any in house hostel facilities, but since the college is situated near college street where there are many other colleges and universities so students can easily get PGs at cheap rates nearby this college.

Alumni/Alumna

Personally I don't know about the alumini network but with the presence of the the students union the senior students are always in touch with the college, which is quite good. The college has fully anti ragging due to the presence of the union

Admission

Geonka college of commerce and business administration is one of the top notch college for commerce in kolkata. The admission is merit based and one need to score 90+ percentage in order to get into this institution.

Faculty

The faculties are also top notch, every teacher takes good care of the students, they even take care of the medium of speech like if someone doesn't understand in the English language, they provide special attention to such students

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
