One of the best college for CSE

If you do not know Bengali then initially you will face problem. It will become very difficult to understand the lectures of some teachers as they speak in Bengali most of the time. Another problem are the lab assistants. They consider themselves superior to main professors. They will sometime scream at you without much reason.

Course structure is based on AICTE curriculum, same as NIT and IIT but somewhat modified by MAKAUT. Some additional subjects have been added. We have to do some extra training class which is not necessary. One of the biggest drawback is that out college do not focus much on research and analysis. Google innovation center is here but we do not get any support from google. Some events are organised in college campus which is based on robotics and new technologies.

Our college have good placement records. Almost all the students have of CSE, IT and ECE branch gets placed in campus placement. If you are not below average then you will get surely get placed. Looking at the past few year records, almost all student of CSE and IT got placed with a satisfactory package. Very few companies come for core branches so placement in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering is very less. Our college do not provide internship so we have to internship from outside.

Let me describe from Beginning. First, an event for freshers is held in the month of October. Participants of cultural program are mainly 2nd year students. Different kind of performance like singing, dancing is there. Mister and Miss Fresher is chosen during this event. In the Month of March we have technical events such as Robotics mainly based on artificial intelligence, Coding competitions, Tech Quiz etc. The main annual festival of our college is named as ARCADIA which is held in the first week of April every year. It last for about 5 days. Different kind of performance is performed. A famous singer is invited to perform in this event. Great singers like Sonu Nigam, Mika Singh, Abhijit, Amit Trivedi, Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan have performed in our college.

Fee structure is very feasible. Tuition fee for 4 year B. Tech program is about 3. 6 lakhs. Semester fee varies from 40000 to 50000 including extra training fees. Hostel Fee is about 24000 per semester including food charges. If you want cheap hostel facilities then you can look for other hostels outside college campus.

If you want to take loan from banks then college will assist you. Some states provide loans to students. College will help you to get that types of loan facility. Last year Bank of India was the main loan sanctioner.

Gender ratio of our college is about 3:1 i. e for every girl there are 3 boys which is considered good for an engineering college. In CSE, ECE and IT branch, this ratio is about 2:1. Workshops like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics are held frequently. Few parties like Freshers party, Farewell Party, CampFire are organised. Almost all the students are part of some cultural society. Our college is very tolerant with regards to gender, religion, caste and economical status. So there is no discrimination on any basic.

Our college hostel is good but not so big. Hostel capacity is not adequate. Capacity of hostel for boys is about 350 and about 200 for girls which is not sufficient specially for boys. Many students have to reside outside college campus. PG are very cheap starting from 3000 including food room rent, electricity and internet charges. Hostel rooms are small with a capacity of 2 students in each room. Students have to face problem as there is no locker. You will get a bed, a chair and a table.

Seniors are very helpful. Ask for anything and they will do anything for you. I had shared my room with a senior for year. He helped me in everything, from providing me books to giving advice on how to get good marks in exam. Ragging is completely banned in our college. Although you will have to go thourough Introduction round.

I was preparing for JEE in year 2018. Prepared well but due to illness I could not perform well. Although I qualified for JEE Main with a rank of 67236 and got 15007 rank in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. I got admission in this college thourough WBJEE counselling held in July 2018. I preferred Computer Science over other branch as I was very interested in computers since my childhood. I was selected in 3rd round of counselling for this college. Later I contacted a senior student of this college and inquired about this college and finally I am here.

All the faculty members are well qualified. They are from reputed colleges and have well experience in their particular field. I am a student of computer science engineering and I found that almost all of the teachers are good excluding few. The main problem is the language. Officially, English is the teaching language but few teachers starts speaking in Bengali in between speaking English or they describe a particular topic in Bengali.
