The only thing negative about this college is the location. It is located outside of ranchi city. But they, there is good bus facility provided by college which runs every back and forth from college to Ranchi city.

The course curriculum has recently been updated. It now follows CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) which offers much flexibility to the students. It offers program elective right from 3rd semester which helps the students to take courses based on their interest. It also offers minor degree in other branches which is vey good initiative looking the current trend where you require to have knowledge in multiple domains.

Placement are pretty decent around here. Most of the reputed companies like FACEBOOK, AMAZON, MICROSOFT, GOLDMAN SACHS, ADOBE are some of the companies that visit every year in the college to provide internship and placements to the students. Core branches like mechanical engineering also have good placement. Some of the companies which visit this college are TATA MOTORS, TATA STEEL, HINDALCO, MARUTi SUZUKi to name a few.

College fests are one of the most the most important thing for all around development of this college and this college TRULY understands that. We have PANTHEON (tech fest) held every year around September, VAJRA ( sports fest) held around November and the most intriguing of all BITOTSAV- the cultural fest. It is one of the largest cultural fest in eastern India.

It is quite expensive college as it is semi- government college. The total cost is around 1074000 for four year B. Tech degree. It include hostel seat rent but not mess fees. The mess fees comes to be around 15000 per semester.

College has GP BIRLA scholarship which offers upto 90% off on tuition fees on merit cum need basis. Apart from this you can also get loan with good interset rates. Institute has SBi bank within the campus in which you can get loan easily.

College boasts of huge sports complex which have all the sports facilitiy like that of badminton court, vollyball court, lawn tennis, football and cricket ground. The new state of the art gym has recently been constructed which is well equipped with all the moden equipment.

Hostels are quite nice for freshman. Since the college has been established around 1965 there are quite old hostels for 2nd year and fourth year. But they have all basic facilities like mess, 24*7 water supply, clean drinking water. Bathourooms and toilets are cleaned everyday so proper hygiene is maintained. Apart from this each hostel have their own reading room, cycle room, vollyball court and badminton court. Now coming to the best part- THE LAN. Each room have their own LAN port which provide very good internet speed that too unlimited. Also we have DC ( direct connect) in which you can get all kinds of stuff at lighting fast speed.

As BIT MESRA is very old established college it has huge network of alumni base. Some of notable alumni are AMAZON ALEXA founder, LENSKART CEO to name a few. Seniors around here are very helpful and guide their juniors thourough regular workshops conducted by them.

I got admission in this college thourough JEE MAINS. Based on JEE MAINS rank I was shortlisted for the admission in the B.TECH MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (4years) course offered by this college. It also required to have a minimum of 75% marks in 12th board examination. We were required to undergo counselling process organised by JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

Most of the faculties in BIT MESRA are highly qualified and have great depth of knowledge in their respective domains. They do some very good research work and also encourage the students to involve in the same which really help the students to apply their knowledge in real life problems.
