Remarks
Excellent college with old fashioned but knowledgeable management great place to have fun and study i love DSCE.
Entrance Preview
I took the CET, the common entrance test then and got the merit seat in DSCE for the course of Architecture. My CET rank was 2570 and just missed the free seat quota for information technology which was my preferred subject then. I chose the college because it was rated among the top 10 engineering colleges of Bangalore.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was extremely huge and it was always a run against time trying to catch up with the portions i had to carry over 2 subjects from the I semester to the third and finally managed to complete the course within 6 years original schedule was 5 years the faculty was good with highly qualified lecturers and professors although practicals were not that great but a truly worthy college.
Internships Opportunities
I worked under a reputed architecture firm called thomas & co as an intern and worked on a few residential projects before I started my own practice. It was difficult earlier on with very few projects of known friends and relatives however with the construction boom in 2003-2007 it became a lot more busier with many projects and the scale also improved.
Placement Experience
It was a difficult environment then with not too many organized players in construction industry but the scenario has changed and every other project big or small today needs an architect so there are ample opportunities available in the market today.
College Events
The biggest college festival is the annual bash which is like a rock party that runs for 3 days annually it is the most awaited event. Also, there are academic events like the college annual day and many technical forums where we have external speakers coming and lecturing.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had availed study loan from canara bank which I re-paid over a period of 4 years not too difficult to get loan due to the reputation of the college.
Campus Life
Campus was most happening with the best of students and lively atmosphere truly an exhilarating experience. Gender ratio was 1:1 almost and that added to the colors. Extra curricular activities were the key for more students to prefer this college compared to others in the vicinity as the college had huge premises large playground, music hall, huge campus area, big sized labs and class rooms.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels were pretty decent with good quality food at the mess although the timings used to be super strict i would rate them 7 on a scale of 1-10 fees are a little exorbitant than usual but that's the kind of premium they command.
Alumni/Alumna
A great alumni network spanning a decade of students and very active on social media and every year there's a gathering which is very well organized.
