It is a general course for Bachelor of Arts. My subject were English, History, Political Science, Compulsory Bengali and Environmental Science. Apart from this, there were other subjects for different section as well.

There was no campus recruitment service available in the college. It is a Government College under University of Calcutta. I completed my 12th and joined there for Graduation.

There was no placement provided by the college. I started working while pursuing my degree. Post graduation, I went for some walk ins and got the job there.

College Events

College annual day is celebrated every year. We brought several good artists for the same. We had Sport events, cultural events as well. Apart from these, we had various political events which spoiled the atmosphere of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very good. It helped poor students like us to complete graduation. Apart from these, there was a concession scheme for the poor students and we ensured only the poor student could avail the same.

Exam Structure

The exam were not very frequent. We had the final exams only and it was pretty simple. Even I cleared the same. There were not any labs as we were from Arts background.

Faculty of the College were very good. Apart from the normal curriculum, they spent time in interacting with us, sharing there experience, knowledge. They were more of a friend to us. We had couple of good faculty whom we miss now.

The field tricks are done sometimes to make us understand the reality and the course is really good. I love that and the field trip helps us a lot to explain and to learn things that happening around us and foods are provided from the school or sometimes on trips, I'm really happy with my college.

A place to enhance skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it has lots of scope in future to get a job and also it is a good subject or my National language. In this college lots of faculty has been given to the students. Well, I am also a new student but I can say that all teaching and non teaching staff and also the office staff are very humble to the students and they help us a lot. I am in B.A. 1st year student and lots of faculty has been given by our beloved teachers and office staff. The teachers are very humble by nature and the way they taught us is really mind blowing I am very grateful that I am a student of those teachers. In every 6 months, you have to give one semester examination and as I already told you that I am a new student and my exam is in February month so I do not have experience with the paper and how difficult it to pass but I can say you read properly you can pass the exam in Good marks.

If you want to study BA pass course here the eligibility criteria are very simple. You have to get a minimum of 70% marks in your west Bengal higher secondary final exam. And admission process is directly based on your 12 mark. If you get good marks you will get admission very easily. You can choose the subject while opting for this BA general course. In my case, I have taken Bengali, History & Sanskrit because I had good marks on those subjects in my 12th exam. The application form is completely online. The official website of our college is www.basirhatcollege.org You have to fill up the form with the 10th 12th mark sheet and admit card and many other documents and after the merit list is published you have to pay the fees. The memory of my 3 years journey in Basirhat College

Eligibility is based on the marks of higher secondary exam. The merit list was created by the best of four subject marks in my HS exam. Application fees is around 1600 rs. And for 2nd year and 3rd year college fees is around 1500. Total college fees is under 5500 Good marks needed for the subject you are taking honours.
