Course Curriculum Overview

3

The college is under Maulana Abul Kalam Aajad University Of Technology (MAKAUT) previously known as West Bengal University Of Technology (WBUT). So it follow the curriculum of that very University. In my opinion, it was pretty relevant. But it definitely has a scope for improvement. Placement was pathetic to be honest. Especially for Civil Stream. As most companies that visited were IT companies. Yes, we did have industrial visits organised for us. But we had to pay a certain amount for that.

Placement Experience

3

No. They had not provided us with proper internships. They just made us register to various websites which have a database of internships.

College Events

3

Not regular at cultural events. Institute would site lack of funds as an excuse. Very bad experience in this part too. Tech fests were mostly intra college with a very few exceptions. Nothing more to say in this part of the form. Nothing eventful to discuss.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure was okay I guess. By okay I mean pretty standard for a private institute. No there were no additional charges levied. Yes the fee breakdown is pretty transparent for everyone to understand. There is a scheme called TFW which helps the students from a lower economic background to pay less for the program.

Campus Life

3

All In all, wasn't too good. Wasn't that bad either. Nothing special to highlight on this part of the form as well. It was quite a normal campus. Gender ratio was around 10:1 for boys and girls.

Alumni/Alumna

No Alumni network. Seniors were not that helpful. They were on their own, we minded on our business. There was no particular interaction.

Admission

I appeared for the WBJEE in 2014 and was waiting to get a college thourough the following steps of e-counselling. I knew I would probably get this college based on my marks and registered choice. One day I came across their advertisement in the newspaper about direct admission. Since the college is not very far from my home, I decided to go to the college to know about the Direct Admission feature. To be eligible for Direct admission, one has to have any rank in WBJEE and he would be admitted in the college any day before the session begins.

Faculty

3.5

The Civil faculty was quite struggling. We never had a professor. There were assistant professors or technical assistants who used to take our classes. But other streams had proper professors. And they didn't struggle as much as we did. The teaching part was good but I don't think anyone had any industry experience.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
