Remarks
The college is good for an engineering aspirant with less marks and an average economic status. The college teaching is better than many other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is totally under the guidelines provided by the Mumbai University. Hence all the subjects and exams are decided by the university. The syllabus is though a bit off topic and less application oriented. Most of the syllabus isn't actually helpful in professional world. However it is still okay and can be used as a base for future studies and research's.
Placement Experience
The placement is above average and almost 70% of students who applied are placed. The placement cell helps the students to get a job to all the students. The process is same as that of other colleges. The college is visited by big companies such as Mahindra, L&T, Infosys etc.
College Events
The college has two festivals mainly- the cultural fest, Zodiac and the Technical Fest, Icarus. The festivals are big and attracts a lot of crowd. The college also has a Ganpati festival in which a Ganpati idol is established for seven days in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is decided by the caste system and on economic standards as allowed by the government. The fees for open candidates is highest whereas that of SC/ST cast is the least. The fees are relatively cheaper than other college in City. The college also supports TFWS system for students with good merit marks and low economic status
Fees and Financial Aid
No I didn't applied for any scholarships or education loan. The college doesn't provide any scholarships.
Campus Life
The campus isn't as great as that of other colleges in City but still is a decent one. The gender ratio is about 60:40 and both the genders are equally treated in the college. The labs are somewhat good but needs to be renovated. The college also has different committees such as SAE(formula car designing), Robotics (Designing automation systems) and various other management committees such as IEEE, IETE, etc. No discrimination is done in college on any basis. All the students behave well in the college with each other.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are really helpful and are always there when we need them. They respect the juniors and co-ordinate well with each other.
Admission
The Admission process for the course is to either give the Entrance exams such as MH-CET or JEE and get qualifying marks or to get a Diploma and directly take admission to second year. I always had interest in the world of electronics and was always curious about how these stuffs work. B.E. in EXTC was a perfect course for me as it included everything I wanted to know about. The Admission process mainly begins in month of July when you have to fill the online forms and select the list of colleges where you want to take admission. The selection is based on several criterias such as marks obtained in entrance exams, marks in specific subjects and your 12th marks aswell. RGIT is ranked 8th in the Mumbai city making me eager to join this institute. Also the placement percentage is about 70% making it a safer option for engineering students.
Faculty
The college has a large number of teachers and the average age is around 40-45. The faculty is great and mostly are Marathi speaker. Some have teaching skills while some do lack the skill. However each teacher is helpful and is supportive. There are also various faculties that have industrial experiences which are shared to the students
