Bagan Sarkar's Review On Delhi College Of Arts And Commerce - [DCAC], New Delhi

A overall independent Admission Test which comprises of 3 papers-overall 2 practicals and one theory. One of the best government art college located in the middle of delhi with good connectivity.

A tough course with a hell lot of paintings to be submitted in a week. This college does not require you to regularly go meet your teachers rather it is your work which matters how you do it noone give a damn. This is art so no research of any kind.

The college does provide internships to the toppers of the college, the toppers in admission test and the students coming from lower income homes are also provided internships .It was a good experience.

No in-campus placement is one of the biggest problem here and not only here all government colleges across india. But off campus the job oppertunities are good. And for the worst case sinario you may get a lecturership at your college in the end. But a good respectable degree provided just helps a lot.

There used to be a lot of exhibitions of paintings,sculptures,etc. At least once a month. There used to be regular tours to any place in delhi which was pictorial and beautiful. Life drawings being one of the most important part of art. No festivals or anything remotely not connected to art did not happen in here.

The fee is something which is so less that i dont even think before spending the amount in an hour. It was around 500 rs for the whole year which included a Student DTC pass at time for DTC users.The hostel fees structure is something i know nothing about always been a day scholar travelling from my house.

I dont think with just a fees of rs 500 a year there was any requirement of any scholarships or loans in perticular that i have knowledge.

The gender ratio is pretty much more inclined towards the female then the male. Not any kind of party is entertained by the college authorities but still a few here and there small parties do take place. Students really got it difficult to get admissions in this college so it was pretty much like all were treated as equals in a year it did not matter u black white or anything. Senior junior division is the only diversity.

I myself now being a alumini it would not be correct to praise your own self but all in all everyone who had passed out from this college got to respectable places with time.

The exams were divided into theory and practicals. Theory used to be pretty chilled out like one paper in 3-4 months. The practicals are really very very hectic like you had to submit a lot of art works each and every week of college.

The Faculty by the standard is good in guiding and collaborating with any student who wishes to interact. They are the most qualified art teachers in town. They are interested in art not teaching so they are very good artist but sometimes not so good as a teacher.
