Remarks

College should focus more on Extra curricular and provide students with more gaming assets and a Gym and a better Play ground. College management is not student friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Total 9 semesters. After each semester Internal exam takes place which consists of theory and Practical. 4 years, each year 2 semester except Second year which is of 3 semesters. At and of each year proffesional exam is there which is headed by external from some other medical College. All according to MCI guidelines. Although I don't feel that theory paper has any part in making a Good Doctor, although Clinical exams to test skill is necessary.

Placement Experience

4.5

After 4.5 years of academics 1 year of internship is mandatory to graduate. For further studies again a entrance exam is to be passed for post graduate studies. Although a MBBS itself can practice in PHCs or as JRs average income is 70-90thousand per month.

College Events

4

College Foundation day. Takes place on10-11-12 February each year. Many sports events, cultural Night, Fete, Health society stalls are organised in which both teacher and students participate. Saraswati Puja is a big festival in our campus.2 day event 1st day puja and cultural night and 2nd day Visarjan. College fest called CEREBREXIA. is organised by students which is a 3 day event in which students all over the bihar participate. Star Night is the main event here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Basic tution fee is 20000 per semester that is 40000 annually. In time of admission additional 40000 was asked. It is feasible for a middle class family but other Medical colleges in patna like PMCH or NMCH have much lower fee. So fee structureis a big issue in choosing IGIMS while councelling. They accept it ivia Online or DD that's it. No cash.

Fees and Financial Aid

College don't provide any scholarships. Although students opt for scholarship provided by government.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio approximately 50:50. For extra curricular activities CMEs keep on happening regularly and once in a year college fest and CFD Happen. Campus is diversity friendly and Completely Non political although everyone have their own views but that doesn't affect our campus or hostel Life. Talking about economic status they come from different family background from upper to middle to low economic classes. Workshops also are being organised regularly being a super speciality course institution. Although we don't have a great cultural society though. It is active only at the time of CFD. Infrastructure is great and a big area of campus is covered by forest.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes. Hostel is newly built in 2018 January. 2students are given one room. 3 hostels for girls and 2 for Boys. Although we need more hostels as few students still have to stay out of the campus. Adequate parking space and a playground is in front of boys hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

College is New and only 3 batches have graduated so not a big Alumni network. Although seniors are really helpful.

Admission

I always wanted to be a Doctor and IGIMS although being a new college has grown so much in few years. So i chose this college. Admission is via medical entrance exam called Neet held in May 2016. After exam as per the marks we are made to choose College as per the Rank in Councelling process.

Faculty

4.5

There are approximately 200 teachers overall although teachers differ as per subject. They are in college 9 to 5 so any student can approach anytime. Some clinical teachers are busy in OPDs or OTs so they give time accordingly. Every single teacher is expert in their respective fields ofcourse they hold degrees in their subjects as per their designation. Hierarchy- PG students Senior Resident Assistant professor Associate professor Additional proffesor Proffesor.

The frequency of exams is a headache to be honest . There is 1 semester coming up within every 4 to 5 weeks which makes it stressful for us. Moreover the teaching methods are decent. This course is indeed a challenging one!

I opted for mbbs which is obvious as i had qualified neet exam. Mbbs is a degree which gives us a day to day exposure to the common people. It's a degree of service, which includes a day/night work without any complaint, but not now as I'm currently in 2nd year only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a medical college, it always has an environment of focus and consciousness. I have chosen MBBS because I want to be a focused student in my life. I want a disciplined life, which is also a beauty of this course. MBBS develops you as a sincere - sensible and soft personality. In each department of our college, there are 3 to 4 teaching and non-teaching staff and our batch strength is of 170 students and there are totally more than 15 departments in MBBS course, so now you have an idea about the faculty Nad student ratio of our college. Faculty members are excellent in every department of our college be it the Undergraduate department or postgraduate department they are well qualified and renowned and they are great doctors too, they have wonderful art and experience of producing successful doctors. As a medical college, here 1st priority is study and assessment of students so exams are on time and obviously it has a difficult curriculum, which needs lots of hard work and dedication.
