Remarks
The college management was good and they were always open to any suggestions. The college was really hygienic, classes were really well maintained. The college always pushed the students to excel in their fields. For students who required help in writing research papers, the faculty was really helpful with them. The classrooms were really ventilated and air-conditioned. Overall the college is really good and the reason behind my success is my college 'Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Delhi'.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was relevant and research-driven suitable to industry-specific knowledge. The faculty focused more on Innovation projects which helped me to expand my knowledge in different areas. Faculties gave us proper guidance in getting on-campus placement which helped >90% of students to get placement. We used to have semester exams and the exams were somewhat challenging which were useful in encouraging us to grasp more.
Placement Experience
There were some companies which visited our campus to offer placements, some of them are: TCS Vinsol ThoughtWorks Nagarro Infogain ZS Associate Compro Technologies General steps followed in recruitment drives were: 1. Aptitude test 2. Group Discussion 3. Technical Discussion 4. hour round The tentative percentage of students placed every year is close to 75%. Our Institution used to prepare us for placement seasons by conducting mock interviews, they helped us in getting prepared for group discussion.
College Events
There were some technical societies that used to conduct technical festivals like IST, GDG, IEEE, and annually there used to be cultural festival events conducted at the university level. I was active in participation. Various societies used to conduct coding games, competition across various games, we used to have Robo wars where robots need to be assembled by the team and we used to fight them. Also, we used to have the annual Cricket championship which was spread over 14 days, and our college used to invite cricket teams from various other colleges and I participated actively in that. There was also a badminton and basketball championship which used to be conducted in our college. Our college was very active in terms of organizing cultural, technical, and sports events. They were really proactive. Each year, we used to have at least 5 technical fests, 1 annual cultural fest, and 1 sports fest which had a combination of indoor-outdoor games.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Program fees was approx 96025 per annum which was divided as follows: 62000- Tuition fees 10000- Development fees 24025- Annual charges Mode of payments being accepted: Cash and cheque No additional charges had to be paid in order to secure admission to your course, but a fee of 3000 was required as an application fee but this fee was included in first-year admission fees. The college provided transparency in the fee- breakdown and it was justified for a year, it was not very expensive as the classes were air-conditioned and all facilities were there, security was up to the mark so the fees were justified.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I didn't opt for any scholarship or education loan. The college offered scholarship opportunities to only students who belong to the economically backward sections. They had to provide income certificates of their family and then if their academic record was found to be excellent then they were provided a 50% scholarship in the fees. The average sum was approx 45000.
Campus Life
Gender Ratios was 65:35 which was boys against girls. The student life was great in college, we used to have cultural societies like nukkad natak and dance societies/ singing groups/ college bands. The students came from various parts of our country but majorly was from Delhi only. Students used to conduct workshops who were in technical societies. The college has a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of discrimination with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, or sexual orientation. College activities were really active and people were really interested in participating in those activities.
Hostel Facilities
No, I didn't opt for the hostel but the hostel was only available for women which were on the campus. There were houses nearby that used to offer the rooms for rent. Hostel seats were not enough to accommodate all the students but they were fair enough as per the size of the campus. The average rental was 60000 per annum for hostels. Mess food was provided for hostel students, cleaning used to be done regularly and security was very strict.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students were really helpful in guidance towards placement season and getting to know about upcoming courses. The college conducts alumni meet every January and they invite all the alumni to attend the alumni meet. It really makes the alumni network strong. I used to have interaction with my seniors regularly in my college to get insights on what's coming and I always took their advice to be successful.
Admission
1. I gave the university entrance exam. 2. Based on the rank, I got to choose the stream and the college through offline counseling. 3. After getting a seat successfully, I got admission to the chosen college and specialization course. 4. The reason for opting for the B.Tech(Information Technology) is because I was always interested in pursuing my career as a Software Engineer. 5. I chose Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering because this is one of the most reputed institutions affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and the college is just 45 min away from my home.
Faculty
Faculty of our college must have minimum qualification as M.Tech and above that, we used to have an assistant professor who had their Ph.D. in various stream. The average age of the faculty was around 35. The faculty were carefully chosen for a particular subject as per their expertise. We used to have 6 months for a semester in which 40 hours of lecture per subject were required along with 36 hours Lab for some subjects where practicals were required. The lecturers had knowledge in working in the industry so they were qualified enough to teach us.
