Amlan Bag's Review On Indian Statistical Institute - [ISI], Kolkata

Most student friendly campus I've ever seen. Every one is eager to help.

It's at par with any of the premier institute. For Computer science they had courses such as Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Algorithm, Optimization , Discrete Math, compiler, VLSI -cad etc.

ISI provides stipend during the course work. Students go outside the campus for internship. Based on their interest, they either prefer industry or prefer school for their internship.

Since I've graduated long time back, I don't have exact figures. Interested people may visit it's website, for current status.

Technical symposium keeps on happening there. IndoCrypt is one of them. Researcher for various university keeps visiting here and they deliver lecture on vogue topic.

If I remember correctly, students needs to pay admission fees at the time of admission. Rest College pays stipend. But those who resides in hostels, they have to bear hostel+mess charges.

You don't need extra loan to finance the course. Having said that, there are several scholarships awarded to those who excels in the course and wanna go in the research filed.

One of the quietest campus. I guess people are busy studying. But they are dull boy. There are inter division football tournament, Badminton games, volly-ball matches. They have annual cultural program named "Integration" .

I didn't stayed at the hostel. So won't be able to give you gory details. But that's not gonna be too rosey, I guess.

Students are well placed all over the world in industry and research field as well. And they do organize Alumni meet. Seniors helps in recruitment process.

Semester wise Exams. There can be open-book test also. Exams are pretty simple, if study properly.

Some of the best known faculty in their Respective field. Some of them are IEEE fellows. Some of them got Santi Swarup Bhatnagar award for their outstanding contribution.
