Management is efficient but sometimes a bit too strict. Considered to be 5 working days and Saturdays and Sundays off but usually Saturdays are compensated for one or the other holiday.
Course Curriculum Overview
The learning process for the first year is not that great. But from the second year should be better as it is respective chosen branch wise. But the curriculum is groomed to provide industry specific knowledge as many professors were formerly a part of the industry and this helps for the campus placements. There is a special counselling for campus placements and career related queries. The companies that come to recruit in the campus placements are absolutely great. All of them are top companies.
Placement Experience
Many top companies visit for campus placements. Microsoft, Red hat, Bosch, Amazon etc. Internships are offered in many companies and foreign universities mostly in the European nations.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for PESSAT is very expensive. The mode of payment is DD only and it is payable at the time of the counseling itself and is non refundable once the course begins. The fee structure for KCET is reasonable. Yes, the college is transparent in these matters. All receipts are given and the accounts are well handled. Modes of payment accepted is DD or cheque.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college offers various scholarship opportunities for students of each and every semester and each and every branch of engineering and also other courses. There is the MRD scholarship, the CNR scholarship. The college gives scholarships of a total amount of 4. 2 crores. The criteria for scholarship is the top 20 percentile in the respective branches. No, procedure as such, the college itself takes care of the students receiving the scholarship.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is decent. but tipping more towards the male gender. The campus had excellent infrastructure. It has decent lab equipments and lab in-charges. There are facilities for online streaming of classes and everything. There are students all over India coming to Bangalore to study in PES University - students from Delhi, Punjab and even Dubai study here. People of all ethnicities and religions are present and in good harmony. Students of all social and economical stature come here to study. There are students who are children of farmers ad well as students who are well off.
Hostel Facilities
No, But the hostels involve room sharing. Thouree members in one room in the boys hostel and two members in one room in the girls hostel. The girls hostel mess is not good apparently. The boys hostel mess is decent and it is within the campus. The girls hostel is situated 2 kilometres away from the College.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, alumni are very good and are in great positions. Some of them visit the campus to give talks, seminars or conduct events.
Admission
The admission to the college is from two ways- 1. PESSAT - An entrance exam conducted by the University itself which is carried out in a time frame of about 20 days in the month of March. There is a minimum requirement of securing 60% in the respective board of the applicant student - may be CBSE, ICSE or state board. 2. KCET - The Karnataka state CET is also considered for the admission. PES University is one of the prestigious universities and a good rank is necessary for securing a seat.
Faculty
The college faculty is pretty decent. The senior and experienced members are very proficient and extremely good. But the newer assisting staff is mediocre. The faculty is on an average is very good and approachable. There are some teachers who are very good and know what they are teaching.
