BIT Mesra - A place where a child becomes Man.

The college management is really promising. They listen to the students calmly for any queries. Everything is well managed and maintained ranging from the website to the Accounts.

The course curriculum is quite detailed and helpful for the students. The examination pattern is also very flexible which makes it easier for all, the faculty as well as the students. Labs are conducted for every engineering field here which helps the students from all branches learn about the theories in detail practically.

There is a long list of comapnies which come to BIT Mesra for giving placement opportunities. Every year, about 300-400 students get placed in good companies. The average package per student this year went about 13.6 Lakhs. Along with the placements, internships are also offered to the students. I myself have got an offer from a good firm last semester.

There are 4 Annual Fests organized in BIT Mesra that includes the Cultural Fest Bitotsav, Technical Fest Pantheon, Hackathon Hackabit and a Sports Fest Vajra witnessing a footfall of over 5000 people. Along with this, 5 more smaller Fests are also organized. There are 25 Clubs and Societies here which organize events regularly, almost Every weekend.

The Fee structure is neither too expensive nor too cheap. This is because this is a Government Funded Technical Institution (GFTI). The college fee per semester is around 1.25 Lakhs which includes the hostel rent as well as the rent for the Mess. Modes of payment which are accepted include D.D. Online payments, Cheque, Student Loans, etc.

Scholarship is given on the basis of merit. The G.P. Birla Scholarship Is given to those students who score a GPA of over 8 in semester exams, provided that they belong to SC, ST, OBC or PWD category. If they belong to the General category, their family's annual income must be less than 2 Lakhs.

The Gender Ratio is approximately 6 girls for every 10 boys. There are 25 Clubs and Societies which keep the students busy as they conduct events and fun activities almost every weekend. There are separate Clubs for each category which includes a debating club and a Robotics club as well. I myself am a part of 4 Clubs and currently the President of one of the clubs. A gigantic sports complex is there for all kinds of sports along with hightech gyms.

It's compulsory for every student to live in the hostels. The students are given separate rooms from 2nd year onwards. Two students have to share a room in the 1st year. The hostels are equipped with fast Wi-Fi and Lan connection. The total hostel rent for a semester is about 18000 INR.

The senior students are very helpful. There's a platform in BIT Mesra called the Newsroom where some senior students and all the freshman year students are there. The juniors can clear all their queries related to the college there. I myself was the Administrator of the Newsroom for 1 year.

I got admission in BIT Mesra thourough the JEE Mains Examination. At the time of my admission, it was ranked AIR 26 by MhourD which encouraged me to enter this college. One of my family friends is an Alumnus of BIT Mesra and I got further guidance from him. The admission procedure was very simple. We were told to bring necessary documents along with recent photographs and thereafter, it didn't took much time for verification.

The faculty here are highly educated and well equipped with the study materials. There are usually 4-5 lectures a day along with the Labs. The teachers are very helpful and friendly which makes learning simpler at BIT Mesra. Industrial trips are also conducted by the teachers oftenly.
