Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure is governed by the Savatribai Phule Pune University formerly kNown as Pune University. Exam structure was very much comfortable and relevant with the developments in Mechanical Engineering. Projects and feild activity was also a major part of the course which integrated together to form a complete knowledge of the course. Seminars by major senior professionals from reputed companies were arranged to talk to us for which gave us a sight into the professional world closely.
Placement Experience
Placement cell is very much supportive and on certian cases handles students individually. Many reputed companies visit for recruitment including many govt. companies like ISRO BARC and also the Indian Navy. selection procedure usually co sists of a GD round followed by PI. Some companies also conduct an aptitude test prior to the GD round. Tnetatively arou d 75-80 percent students get an offer from companies per year. College also co ducts various mock GDs and PIs to prepare for the main rounds.
College Events
Shivanjalinis the biggest fest of our college. Intercollege competitions are a part of it. Variour technical as well as No,n technical competitions take place. Apart form it we had traditional days mis-match days DJ nights and freshers party as well. Events are celebrated with a huge enthusiasm by the students as well as the faculties every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees per year was 96000 during my course 2013-2017. Apart from this additional 1500 rs for social skills was to be paid. Fees was to be paid by DD and a challan(which was offered by the college) Complete fees breakdown is provided by the college like tution fees exam fees etc. It was rather less expensive that other colleges in the city.
Fees and Financial Aid
Coming from an EBC I had availed a scholarship of Rs 25000 per year. Whole procedure was online from MH-DTE site and only the final form was to be submitted to college for its verification.
Hostel Facilities
I am a local in Pune city therefore did not opt for a hostel. The college however does not have an oncampus hostel facility but there are many local neighbourhoods offering hostel servies. Pune station is just across the street so many preffered travelling by local trains rather than opting for hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
Every year college arranges for an alumni meet where the seniors speak to the juniours about thier experience and future opportunities they gained from the college.
Admission
Location of the college was the biggest benifit for me and ine of the reason for opting for this college. After MH CET exam I had qualified for Mechanical Engineering in AISSMS COE. After Mock 1 round of online admission process I secured a place in this college. Admission process proceeded smoothly. They also had an induction program to make us familiarise with the course and admission process.
Faculty
Most of the faculty are either perssuing Phd or have already completed it. Very professional and kNowledgable staff and their practiacal knowledge in the feild of Engineering helped the students alot. Tentatively there were 8 lecturers per semester during the course avg age being around 40. Our Head of the Dept was a PHd in mechanical engineering and very experienced in RnD.
