Remarks

I am pretty happy about my college and everything which was offered by them. They are doing great by helping us training us. One thing I would mention that some students coming from other states might face language difficulties as most of the population here speaks Bengali which is totally fine every place has their own language and people are more convenient in their own language so here the students should make effort to try and ask teachers or authority to tell them in English or Hindi they don't need to be shy as everyone will help them out in their best possible way also the college should provide fast, free and unlimited wifi throughout the whole campus which is still missing and I regret.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is strictly followed as per AICTE and the exam structure is pretty strict inside the college. Any means of cheating and irregular activities are prohibited. Classes are always guarded by a bunch of teachers. As per the industry ready requirements the students are provided with industrial visits quite frequently. We have visited electro steel limited and witnessed the making of ductile iron(DI) pipes and also a Hyundai service and training centre where we got to learn about automobile parts and system

Placement Experience

4

The placement of our batch must be the best till date as per my knowledge as many students have been placed and many of them were yet to be but could not because of the COVID 19 pandemic. During the placement season, extra classes were taken on aptitude, reasoning and communication. On average, every year more than 70% of students get placed. Accenture, Pinnacle Infotech, Genpact, ITC etc have already visited for my course, mostly the pattern was a test of aptitude reasoning and English followed by a GD and then personal interview or HR interview.

College Events

3.5

A large number of events are held almost throughout the year. From Saraswati puja celebration to Vishwakarma puja, annual sports meet then annual mini-marathon and the most important every year the college organises two fests. The technology-related fest is called KRITANJ and the Cultural fest us caller NAVODAYA.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite impressive and not much as compared to other colleges situated in Kolkata. The college does not charge extra money on behalf of exhibitions or events held. Earlier the college only accepted payments through demand draft but nowadays it has gone fully digital and online payment systems are introduced. No extra fees is asked by the college to book the seats as per my knowledge. The college is quite transparent in fee breakdown but I have heard from seniors that they take a lot of time to return the caution money which is taken during admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I have not opted for any educational loans my father is bearing my education all alone from his salary and savings

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio in mechanical engineering is huge as per 70 boys there are only 2 girls. Workshops and cultural societies are there such as drama crew, fashion, and music group. There are no political affiliations related to students or faculty or college authority. also, it is not allowed to for students to indulge in politics, and every decision id taken by the principal or registrar.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are always welcome inside our college and have been appreciated by all the students they come and share their life experiences take part in sports events and inspire juniors.

Admission

I opted for mechanical engineering because I was influenced by my father as he is a technician and knows quite well about heavy mechanical machines.I got around 50k rank in wbjee didn't have it seriously as earlier I thought I would drop a year and prepare again but life had other plans further I filled for counseling and got a campus of techno India then after graduation I got Narula institute of technology I enquired locally and talked to ex-students and after visiting there I took admission. First I paid 20k as counselling fee and paid rest amount at college the total fees back then was rs85200 including 20k that's it.

Faculty

4

The quality of teachers in our mechanical engineering department is very good. Each teacher/lab assistant is well Qualified and equipped with teaching skills. Most of the teachers are young in age within the 30-35 there are also well-experienced teachers too on our side having teaching experience of over 25 years or more if the average age is considered it would be around 32 -35 in my opinion. Some of our teachers have previously worked for renowned organizations for like 10 years and now they are teaching us not only about academics but also how to become industry-ready.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
