Entrance Preview
I decided to take up Bachelor of Mass Media (B.M.M.) and chose Journalism as majors in my final year. Earlier this course also had entrance exams but the entrance exams for the same have now been scrapped. I particularly chose to do this course as I know it will give me the exposure.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course has six semesters divided in three years i.e. two semesters each year. They have ensured to include practical knowledge along with the theoretical studies. They assign many projects to students which requires them to brainstorm a lot and makes them do lot of research eventually also empowering them to build and have strong team spirit.
Internships Opportunities
Since it's been like few years, I don't remember the name of companies that had come and the stipend they offered but there were companies like DNA who had offered intern ship.
Placement Experience
As far as placements are concerned they did have AD agencies and news papers coming for the interviews but I also remember that they only shortlisted very few students.
College Events
We had many festivals and they do it on a very big scale. We have many inter college competitions and the participation we receive from other colleges are also very high. Film festivals, science exhibitions, many workshops, sports and everything is done very grandly. They also hand out certificates for the participation and prizes for the winners.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholar depends on student to student on how they fair in exams. Besides there are no loan facility offered, but girls where refunded with some fees back at the end of the course. Not sure if it is still continued.
Faculty
This college has best of faculty. They have experienced teachers who teach, train and modify them as the needs of the course. They are very well trained teachers. Teachers in S.I.E.S college are very generous and surely know how to prepare a student to face their future.
