The course curriculum is well defined as per the need of an advanced medical course in the domain. The basic principle of nursing along with the higher level application are taught as a part of the course. Exams are held in annual manner and between that mid-term tests and evaluations are conducted. Practical examinations in face of in hand practice and equipment handling are also conducted.

In terms of placement I can say that one can get placement in the college itself because our Institute is a renowned eye care hospital with branches in and around the country. Apart from that one can get placement in other eye care facilities as wells. For internship one has to not worry as the college itself provided internship and the course curriculum that is the diploma programme involves one year of mandatory internship for the grant of diploma.

The fee of the college is on high side and since it is a private college this is expected from it. For advanced level diploma in nursing one has to pay around 3 to 4 lacs for the entire duration of the course. For assistance one can get scholarships or can apply for the educational loans.

As of now the state government of Tamil Nadu offers scholarship to the students who are domicile of the state and are belonging from the reserved category or are from the economically weaker section of the society. The central government is also offering scholarships to the student in face of the national scholarship portal. Apart from that educational nodes are also available which are offered by almost all the private and public sector bank.

There is not much of sports or extra-curricular activity in our Institute as it is more of an hospital and less of an educational institute. Most common of the events that are organised include community service and workshops and eye care camps. In terms of infrastructure the college is very good and have all the latest equipments and technology.

Admissions are based on the 10 + 2 marks and a physical fitness test which is conducted by the institute. The interesting thing is that both 10 + 2 candidates and graduate students can apply for this course. Student has to obtain a physical fitness certificate certifying that he/she is physically fit for the course. After all the formalities document verification is done and the admission is granted. I opted for the college because it is one of the renowned eye care institution in my district.

All the teachers in our college are specialised doctors who practice on a regular basis. Many are trained technicians and opthamalogists who help us to to gain knowledge about how the equipments are handled and how they are used in conducting test efficiently. The approach is to make students learn things by practicing that is learning by doing approach.
