My College Review

Its a place for opting a great education. The campus has an excellent positive vibe at all time. Extra curriculum activities like football, cricket, basketball and many more games are present for recreation. I loved perusing my career in this esteemed college.

Being an Electrical Engineer I was encouraged with great quality of teaching from the lecturers and professors. Experiments, lab works have always made us ready for the industry based work. With practicals and assignments, the study became more valuable. Our college had also organised an industrial visit to Andal Power Generation Plant, Durgapur to give the taste of actual workspace.

The companies that visited the campus for their placement drives are- Capgemini, Wipro, Mindtree, Ayant Software Limited, Pinnacle, Byjus, Cognizant, Extramarks and many more. The general steps for placement in any company followed by a written test, group discussion (for mass recruiting students), Technical interview and at last HR interview.

Technical events like seminars on different topics, journal paper presentation are held with great efficiency. It organises the fresher's party at the beginning of the new session. It also organises different fest between February and March. This fest is further classified into two different programs. The first is cultural where games like paintball game, bull's eye etc.

Well if the fee structure is compared with other colleges in other states that are outside West Bengal, then the fee seems not too expensive. For a few students, the fees seem to be affordable and for few not. Few students prefer educational loan for paying this fee. I am a pursuing my Electrical Engineering in this esteemed college where the fees are Rs 45000 per semester.

Well the college itself does not offer any educational scholarships. But students with caste certified are given a scholarship of around 10,000 per semester.

The gender ration differs in different streams. For example, Computer Science (CSE), IT has a ratio of 3:5 in girls: boys. Whereas in core branches like Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication (ECE) have a ratio of 1:3 respectively. Our college organises fest ever year in between February and March. This fest is further divided into two.

Well, our seniors helped us by discussing the placement cell. They helped us to focus on the subjects of interests and pursue in the same. Guiding us like a brother/sister when we are in a most difficult stage to opt for a perfect career path. The placement cell in our esteemed college has also given us a great opportunity to explore our career.

I appeared for West Bengal joint (WBJee). I opted this college for pursuing my Electrical Engineering course. I opted for this branch because I wanted 2 doors open while choosing for my career option. For example- by pursuing electrical engineering I can opt for both core companies and IT companies while appearing for placements.

The college has a sufficient number of lecturers and professors. Hence the tentative number remains to be around 15-20 per stream. The lecturers have an average age of around 30-42 years. Whereas the professor's ages around 45-60 years. Lecturers are mostly qualified till Masters level or above. For the professors, it is a level of PhD in their subjects.
