Fun and pun

Management was fine till last year. The new management is kind of a pain. Its more strict and there is really no freedom. Its more or less like a jail. The whole point of college being able to make memories have fun learn and also gain experience which is now being threatened. So management really is a pain. College life so far is great and Definetely will miss everyday of it.

I took up CET AIEEE and IITJEE. I got into DSCE through CET. My rank was 157. Scored 84% in 12th. I opted for this College because my seniors had told me the standard of education is decent and work environment is chilled out.

Architecture is a 5 year course. Design is the only common subject which goes on till 8th sem. 8Th sem being thesis. Then the 5th year is internship.1st year - History of architecture, structures, building construction and materials, architectural design, art appreciation, basic design nd visual arts. 2nd year - History of architecture, structures, building construction and materials, architectural design, building services. 3rd year - Contemporary architecture, structures, building construction and materials, architectural design, building services.

I am in 4th year. Internship hasnt started. But yes ive heard from seniors that its very hectic.

Architecture is a little different from engineering. Internship is based on a students design portfolio. The design portfolio is a compilation of all the best works of the student in college and are recuited according to your skills and understanding of design. Average salary is around 5k.

College does have a lot of event but mostly organised by engineering students. We are excluded from all this most of the times because our timings are different. I m our department we have a lot events organised throughout the year. The architecture world has a students organisation called NASA which is the largest student organisation in the world The fests happens twice a year. One zonal and one annual. These are considered to be the major events in rhe architecture world.

There are scholarships but I dont know about them.

Campus experience is known to be the best. Schooling was restricted. Parents were strict. Now its more chilled out and there is so much happeneing in college. Friends relationships bonds. All these make college life worth experiencing.There are quiet a lot of events and activities which hapoen in the department which kind of builds bomds between juniors-seniors teacher-student. These are the people who u treasure for your enture life and these are the bonds which last.Like Dr.APJ Abdul kalam omce said It is the memories of bunking classes you rememeber than the days you sit and attend classes.

I dont stay in a hostel. But yes we have 2 types of hostels - indian and nri. Both are decent and nri being better. Quality of food is decent but there is no variety in the menu so after a while people tend to go out to eat most of the time unless they are broke.

We do orgamise alumini meets but thats for passouts so i do not know much..

Exam structure doesn't really make sense. I feel it should be more of practical than theoretical. Every exam mugging up everything doesnt really make sense if you dont know how or where to apply. The whole point of learning becomes futile. But yes, this is how a "usual" instuition works. And anyone who thinks different is not really encouraged in reality nut we are made to believe that there is scope for creativity. Which is not true! The department politics of course plays a vital role too.

Faculties are very friendly and cooperative. The faculties are good but not everyone can teach well. Its only few who excel at teaching.Of course the external teachers are well experienced and educated who give us a tremendous amount of.knowledge from their experiences. Also the classes are also appreciable with the externals.
