Popular University for distance education in Tamilnadu

The syllabus and the structure of the course curriculum are dealt very well keeping in mind the requirements of a language based program at the bachelors level. The University follows semester wise sequence of examination. That is semester examinations are held every 6 month. In a single your study 2 semester examinations are conducted.

To be honest distance learning student is completely on his own for jobs or placements. As per my experience most of the students pursuing the course either do jobs or are preparing for Masters level program post which they can explore better job opportunities. I myself am preparing for the B.Ed entrance exam. Internship is not an integral part of our course.

Fee of the university is nominal and is defined so that affordable and accessible education can be provided to students of the state. The total fee for the program is Rs 5,000. Rs 2,500 is to be submitted as the first year free after which in the remaining two year you have to submit Rs 1500 each year. There is much to offer from the side of University in terms of extra-curricular activities and events celebration when you talk about full time regular student hour for a distance learning student things are limited to studies at the regional centre. Infrastructure wise regional centres are good and the centre where I am studying is also decent in terms of infrastructure and facilities.

For taking admission into the distance learning centre of Thiruvalluvar University I simply made an application online. The process is quite simple you have to fill in the details and upload all the required documents. Once the application is verified and approved you will receive a mail regarding that. Post that you have to submit the fees. The reason for opting this university was that one of my seniors in school was pursuing a course from this university and has recommended this to me.

The faculty that is teaching in my regional centre is quite experienced and has a teaching experience of over 20 years. Their understanding of the Tamil language is very good. The focus of the teaching methodology is to help connect the student with the roots and cultural touch of the language rather than learning it through memorization.
