Course Curriculum Overview
We had a four year course with eight semester system. It was a good curriculum. The entrance was through west Bengal joint entrance exam for engineering for which only science students were eligible. So the course was food technology having focus on different food processings, food nutrition, packaging and quality control. The laboratory work were enough.
Placement Experience
Placements were not 100%. Mostly the food companies come for recruitment. But you can get job by offcampusing or by references. Internships were there arranged by college but without any stipend. I got a job on campus placements.
College Events
Many events were celebrated in my college. Freshers party used to be very big, cultural and technical fests, farewell party, annual alumni meet, ravindra jayanti, bijoya sammilani all were celebrated really well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
?40,000 per semester when I was there as a student. Now the fees is increased even more as the college has become an independent university. The fee was high as compared to the course. As they did not even provided a latop.
Hostel Facilities
I have not opted for hostel. Hostel facility was there. I used to stay at my own house that was my fathers quater. People use to stay in pg as well who were from outside kolkata or West Bengal. Pg facilities were there.
Alumni/Alumna
Good alumni network. Seniors are really helpful. The food technology department specially organises an annual alumni meet which is attended my many enthusiastically. The network is quite good. For work also seniors help a lot.
Admission
West Bengal joint entrance exam for engineering. I wanted to pursue engineering.
Faculty
They were very qualified from the topmost colleges like Indian Institute of Technology, jadavpur university and with phd and were very good in their fields or the subjects they were teaching on. They took great interest in their respective subjects.
