Remarks
Speaking about positive remarks the teaching is very good, faculties are the best, the college campus is away from the city rush. I am talking about the negative remarks the hospital is about three kilometres from the college, the food is just average, the place don't have any major attractions, lack of greenery.
Course Curriculum Overview
The MBBS curriculum got changed this year and we are the first batch under CBME(competency Based Medical Education) and called as the Indian Medical Graduate (IMG) which put us under some more pressure. Ofcourse, the course presents you with lengthy lectures and practicals as before. Now they have tried to make the classes interesting and interactive with sessions like SDL- self directed learning and ECEs-Early clinical exposure (which includes hospital visits). Along with this we now have to write more records and projects which is tiresome. But 'No Pain No Gain'.
Placement Experience
Yes there is one year internship as CRRI(compulsory rotatory residential internship) in which house surgeons who completed the final exams are posted under various departments on a rotatory basis. Stipend is around 15000 per month. The house surgeons will get an exposure on how to practice clinically and make them independent.
College Events
Our medical college conducts programs on various platforms both academically and non-academical. The college host various conferences under various departments. They attract doctors from all over tamilnadu. We have our hostel day function which is very fantastic. Then we have the Tamil mandram function which show our respect towards Tamil. Then we have the culturals named RADIANCE which is conducted on April may months every year. There are sports events and art events which lasts for about 4 days.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college is government owned so the fees is low as 15 k tuition fee per year. But we have to buy text books and notebooks which totals to about 10 k. When you are comparing to the private colleges where the fees are about 5 to 6 lacs this is very cheap
Fees and Financial Aid
The college is run by government so the fees are very low so there is no need for taking a loan. There are no scholarships directly given by the college but we can apply scholarship from the central government and state governments.
Campus Life
Our bach consist of 150 students among which 69 are boys and the rest girls. There are 21 students from other states and the rest are from all over tamilnadu. We have other extra curricular activities such as sports games and NSS.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are moderate. The food is not so nice. We have uninterrupted water supply, electricity supply and peaceful environment away from the town area. We have a large ground so that we can play various games and other sports events. The hostel is always neat and tidy, we have laundry facility. Hostel fee will be around 5000-6000 per month.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors of our college are very supportive and good. They help us in our studies and during the clinicals. Speaking about the alumni, they work in excellent institutions all over India and abroad. They are our motivation.
Admission
I wanted to be a doctor but my Neet 2018 mark was just 225 but with hardworkI passed the neet 2019 exam with a mark of 591(AIR-9991)after repeating at Brilliant Study Centre, Pala.
