Remarks

Government Engineering College, Patan was established in April 2004 with three branches Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering each with intake of 60 totaling to 180. The institute was initially functioning in the premises of the K. D. Polytechnic, Patan temporarily. It was shifted to its own newly built up green premise in August 2008 at Katpur village on Chanasma-Patan road 8 km (5. 0 mi) before Patan. Two more branches of Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering each with intake of 60 were introduced from June-2009 and the intake of all three existing branches were increased to 120. Currently, institute functions with total intake of 480 in five different branches.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I recommend in Mechanical course because all mechanical equipment are available in our college with well knowledgeable faculties. The exam structure is divided in three part per semester. There is first part internal examination, second part external exam and third part submission exam.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are okay here. But they dont provide any internships. There were various company like capgemini, cargoflash, pinclick, oyo, think future tech, avl tech. and wipro who came to my college for hiring.

College Events

1.5

There are no events celebrated in my college. It was worst experience for 4 years in my college. They will say that they will have some cultural events but that will never turn out to be true. Once in a blue moon they host some treasure hunt event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is really expensive. At my time, we had to pay 50000 per semester which totals to 100000 per annum. You will be given a date for paying the fees, after that you have to pay fine. It is not feasible for poor people.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college will say that they will provide you a really good scholarship but when its time to provide money, they will simply make you wait for eternity and you will never receive your scholarship. There is no load facility available.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio is basically 2:5 (boy:girl). There are no parties at all inside campus. There are alot of workshops going on each month. Well the college have alot of unmannered students who just want to fight for no reason.

Alumni/Alumna

I met a few seniors which are still my good friends uo until this point. They are very helpful as well as friendly. I got inspiration to go for graphic design due to one of my senior. It was a great experience.

Admission

The process was pretty simple. I went to the headoffice of dronacharya college of engineering, asked them if they have seats available. They said yes. So I filled up some forms and handed over the admission fees.

Faculty

2.5

Most of the faculty is MTech passed out. They are not that good at teaching. I will say most of them suck really hard. All they do is come to class and complete the syllabus as son as possible. They dont care if its understood by students or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics

I am a Delhite and my college is on outskirts of Delhi and also i being residing near du north campus used to think i will enjoy the same college life. but being into a professional (b.tech) course gave me a different view of college and its life. i came to know how to lead a professional ethic life, learnt some good meaningful things.college management is getting strict day by day for laws against students but the other tasks like things that need to be get done from peon are not getting done. ac's dont work even after complaints. in total the college needs a great improvement else it will keep running the business with no fruits.
