An active student's view on Techno India University

The College Courses are good and amenities are sophisticated too. The Faculty are also very helpful and friendly, they are experts in their own educational fields. Though the College needs to work on their placement programs offered to the students as they are not at all satisfactory in some cases.

The B. tech Biotechnology course curriculum is satisfactory. You have got 8 semesters throughout the 4 years. Each semester has two main exams - one, the MTA which is an online based assessment and two, the main semester exam.

Placements of this College are quite well and they have grown well in the recent years. You might not get a decent job just after the B. tech though, if you are studying Biotechnology. Considering other branches, if your SGPA remains decent throughout the course, you m8ght get a decent job in the IT sectors. The Internship programs of this college are good and beneficial.

College holds several seminars throughout the semesters which helps the students a lot and also they provide certificates of the seminar, which adds a good touch to the students' CVs. They are very beneficial too as they add to the knowledge of us students on a particular field. Besides, the college holds several Cultural and Management Fests which are as big and entertaining as you would expect.

For B. tech Biotechnology, its costs around ?79000 per semester for a total of 8 semesters through 4 years. It is quite expensive and might not be possible for all to afford. Although you can arrange for the money if you get the Student's loan from banks, which they provide based on your merit.

A total of 10 scholarships are available - full scholarship will be awarded to 5 selected students, while half of all tuition fees will be waived for 5 students. Students with a consistent record of excellent academic performance and/ or extra-curricular activities are welcome to apply.

The extracurricular activities are quite well here. The College holds several such cultural and sport events throughout the year where all can participate. There is no such things as racial abuse or anything offensive like that.

Yes the alumni students are very helpful. They often provide us with some genuinely beneficial advices to us and often attend several events and semninars. Thus a good network between the alumni, senior and junior students also gets formed.

I got admission in this College on basis of my WBJEE score. I wanted to pursue a b. tech course on Biotechnology and not many colleges in West Bengal provides that. So I opted for the course here and got a seat for the course.

Faculty of this College is really very good and not only they teach well, they are very helpful too. All of them are well qualified and they have got a vast range of knowledge in their own respective fields.
