Course Curriculum Overview
It's old. The exam structure is majorly similar to any IIT. Its fundamentals have driven. One could strengthen fundamentals and theory. But no one wants to. Companies dont really require it, students find it very outdated. A new, exciting and industry-ready curriculum needs to be put in.
Placement Experience
The best opportunity is equal to twice the average package of an IIT. The placement record is good enough. The companies always appreciate the talent of Pec. There have been top companies who have been forever loyal to PEC. Although non-circuital branches do suffer a bit.
College Events
All major festivals, PECfest, Open House, Alumn Meet, Convocation, orientation etc. Students put in a lot of preparation for everything. Budget is an issue always. Pur yardwork has made up for it. But every next year it feels like the energy is diminishing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
One of the cheapest. For a Hostetler, graduation would cost 4.40lc for a day scholar but 6. 80lc for a Hostetler. Every year per sem the fee goes up by 10k. Makes it less worth it for every next batch. Yes, there's absolute transparency in the fee structure. It's a government college.
Campus Life
Campus life is one of the best as compared to colleges of a similar ranking. Great culture. Though the gender ratio isn't quite balanced, you won't feel alone or alienated. You could always find sensible friends if you can be one. Strong club culture too if you are willing to invest.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes very helpful. Current senior/junior interaction is amazing. If one knows how to search for a well-placed senior, they'd help you keenly.
Admission
I loved maths so I chose Non-Med. Then we have Joint Entrance Examination for engineering colleges. It's one of the toughest and most prestigious exams in the country. The result of these exams combined with 12th Mark's gave us ranks. Then we had cut-offs to pick colleges.
Faculty
Some are great others do their job for the sake of it. Some consider it as a lazy gift job. Others do put their heart into it. But to find and deserve a good teacher you need to be a keen student too. Else you'll find yourself blaming the system all 4 years.
